I have heard of liquor bills at show parties for surpassing $50k. Add food, shuttle service, employees, insurance, SOME profit...

All of this stuff adds up, quickly. As long as it was a fun party and everyone had a great time, thats what matters. Worrying about "small stuff" will totally kill the buzz.

I concur. :thumbsup

I didn't mean to be a buzzkill. I was just trying to understand how DH got hosed on the deal after dropping $40k on the party.

just give up sly. if these people went to the party they'd be posting pictures and braging about it to their friends instead of making threads about how lame it was.

It was still a party at the playboy mansion as other people are saying. However, people who thought Hef was going to be walking around, Come on, think about it.

This guy is too old to be dealing with drunk webmasters running up for a "picture" or kissing his ass every 5 minutes. I would be surprised if he even knew it was happening.

Anyone ever seen larry flynt at the Shows? I've seen him at the vegas one getting pushed around in his Gold Wheel Chair, he also has 2 big ass bodyguards, try being drunk and getting close to him. Larry doesnt want to put up with that shit, and either does Hef.

I can not even begin to think what can be done with 40K...

I would never do anything that stupid with my money or anyones money.

Sorry man, but really.

Its fucken stupid.
PlayBoy Mansion is cool and all I am not downing that...
But I can think of better ways to utilise such money to get better results by the nickel.

So I guess Nike, Sony, Ford, GE, General Motors, Adidas, Cingular, Honda, etc, etc are all stupid for sponsoring events for much, much more than $40k?

It's called advertising and branding.

Nookster 11-20-2005 09:51 PM

Lol damn. Well, when I finally get my chance to go to the PB mansion I deff. won't like the whole idea of being there unwanted or uninvited (ya so I have problems battling my conscience lol) but man, if I were younger I would have to admit to sneaking in...but comon now, we're all adults (or at least try and act it) so please have some decency and respect to the other hard working webmasters who were invited to take what life gives you and deal with it. (That pretty much means whoever snuck in is a friggin DICKHEAD and needs to get checked.) :2 cents:

Well ya let me know if that 40K will pop there company name to over 5-10 Million people captive audience from a small party in a big mansion.

It wont.
EVER.

Yeah the same people ya saw and met on the convention floor:/

Oh well...
Some can choose to do such thing. It is all a matter of perspective but man...
40K made me spit coffee LOL!

I deligate sometimes over 30K a month to various folks and it gets real results.
Thats not alot but it is effective for me and where it is placed and done and for whom that creates products and quality for the masses to consume.

I made a ryme.
Nice.

Me too. I would think that all the sponsors would have an open guest list or just pay extra for last minute guests.

But then again reading other posts, the bus drivers were rude and the new owner of adult.com wasn't present nor any real playboy bunnies makes me think the sponsors got hosed. :Oh crap

aflex 11-20-2005 10:29 PM

i think its silly to sit there and say what you'd do with 40k.. i think DH really put his program on a new level by putting up sponsorship, take a look at his clients/partners, (many well known tgp's), bringing a bunch of them together at the Playboy Mansion is definitely a no brainer.. its something they all would enjoy and would definitely bring back an ROI. oh yeah, tax writeoffs help too.

NaughtyAce 11-20-2005 10:42 PM

That really sucks guys, I just read this thread.
Lars, if I found that out I'd be pissed too.
That's unfortunate as it seemed their security was pretty good for the whole night.

I had a great time personally and I was very greatfull for the ticket that I received.
Thank You to all the sponsors

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 11-20-2005 10:45 PM

I'm not a big player, or a part of the good old webmasters network here at GFY, because I operate my own small (6-digit) independent web sites...

Nonetheless, I hoisted a few trial flags hoping to get an invite to the party at the Playboy mansion, offering to bring along some eye candy for the night, but once it was obvious that wasn't gonna happen, I did my own thing.

Friday night (the night of the party at the PB mansion), I managed to score 6th row seats to Depeche Mode in San Jose (so nope, I wasn't the mystery crasher), then the next morning (yesterday) I hopped a plane with some models and set up an ADG table at the AsianModelPalooza event in LA (even saw a few GFYers there)...

http://www.asiandivagirls.com/gfy/ad...delpalooza.jpg

Then we got up bright and semi-early today and did some more photos, including some just for GFY...

http://www.asiandivagirls.com/gfy/adg_gfy2.jpg

http://www.asiandivagirls.com/gfy/adg_gfy.jpg

...then we made a run on the Glamourcon event down in LA where I got to hook up with some photographer and model friends (plus set up future bookings with some models not yet on my site), and finally back to home sweet home in Northern Kali...

All in all, quite a nice weekend. Maybe next year I can swing an invite to the party at the mansion...but if not, I always know how to make my own fun.

Cheers,

ADG Webmaster

wHOOPs I wasn't on his guest list nor did I expect to be. DH posted that he couldn't get two extra tickets being a sponsor and some one else got in free. :upsidedow

Why does DH need his company name "popped" to 10 million people? All he needs are a few good and loyal clients that appreciated his efforts on their behalf. If they buy 10k packages from him before or after going to the party, I'd say his ROI on that money is just fine.

Once again, Alien Trump's economics and math skills are on display for all to see.

Pretty much all parties at the mansion are like that any more. I've talked to several people who've gone to other parties -- Howard Stern party, BetSports party, etc -- and it was the same setup. Hef is like 300 years old and he doesn't move around when he does go out. He sits behind a roped off area and the bunny girlfriends take turns talking to him and amusing themselves.

I'd say that the sponsors definitely got their money's worth on this party, given the amount of "buzz" it's created.

Now Alien, go ahead and have fun calling me names and trash talking me - you've got an entire week to do it without me even bothering to look at the board to make fun of your lame ass insults. I'm off to Paris in a few hours and I won't be reading boards all week. (I should be getting emails if anyone is looking for me, as a side note)

chaze 11-20-2005 11:05 PM

Wait all this over a party that was just at the Mansion?

That's some serious cash to rent a mansion. I know you can rent for a week for 10k, indoor pool overlooking hollywood.

Was there at least playmates there? I partied with a playboy centerfold just the other night for free, well kinda.

For 40k there better be allot of em.

Although maybe it was the fun that was the highlight, that's cool too.

CuriousToyBoy 11-20-2005 11:16 PM

Sponsorship is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it.

Not a penny more and not a penny less.

The VALUE of a sponsorship opportunity is as perceived by a sponsor willing to pay such sponsorship and the benefits are RARELY distinct and definable.

My 2c.

So you guys had a Party at Hef's House ?? While he was away and somebody snuck into your praty and you are pissed???

Dude go back 20 years and just imagine how much of loser you guys look like right now? Somebody crashed my party?
This kinda reminds me of an episode of Growing Pains when Kirk Cameron had a party and when everyobody was having too much fun he called the police on his own party... I guess no matter how much money you have you still can't buy coolness.

It wasn't at "the mansion".

There were a bunch of tents set up on the Mansions lawn with a few mediocre-looking escorts walking around.

No it is not what you said.

You aid you would not waste your or someone else's money doing it.

Who is to say what is a waste and what is not unless you are privy to the total marketing strategy of any given operation ?

And everything is relative as what you spend on promotions.

You should know and understand that.
