New york & new jersey webmasters-- Help me.

My thanksgiving plans have changed at last minute. I plan to meet some family in either new jersey or new york wednesday night to go see the macys thanksgiving parade in the morning. I am debating about taking a train from windsor ct. anyway, I will probably end up driving. I got to find a low cost hotel & meet my family in jersey, whereever they end up being, or meet them on the parade route.

what I need are names of towns in jersey to find hotel, that are close to new york city that I can get to parade early am by train since I think traffic & parking are going to be a problem. I checked orbitz for NYC & all they have are one stars & I'm thinking they're probably shit holes. I dont know the area. The other thing I need is a well known, easy to find landmark or intersection on the parade route so I can schedule to meet somewhere. Macy's is out of the question, wont be able to get near it. also, any of you ever go to this parade? What's a good location to hang out to watch. also, If I do drive into the city, where's safe, convenient, cheap place to park? thanks. OH, trains. I dont know what to take from where, or where to get off. Anyone ever take train from connecticut to NYC. what's it called, I need to google for info & havent found what I need. |

1 star hotels in the nyc area usually come with a hooker.

I never go to this parade so I can't tell you any good meeting points. I can tell you a few areas for hotels.

Hoboken should be your #1 pick in Jersey. There's a nice Sheraton on the water. There's trains and ferries to choose from as well that are close to that hotel. Or stay out at the Newark Airport hotels. You can get something decent for as little as $110 and there are like 10 different ways to get to the city in 30 minutes or less from there. You can also stay downtown in NY for a reasonable price. The Embassy Suites in Battery park gives you an actual 2 room suite for $189. Also, the Seaport Suites is a moderately priced hotel as well.
