Question on rotating pictures:
OK here is my dilema:
I have about 10,000 pics that some need to be rotated and some do not. How would you photogs go about doing this task in a batch mode? Is it possible? Is there software that can recognize wich way is up on a picture somehow? (i never heard of any) The fastest way I have found sp far is too view the images in explorer in thumbnail mode, highlight the pics that need to be rotated, cut them to another folder, and then batch rotate them in photoshop. Any better ideas? Thanks in advance, BV |

Thats how I do it - not that means its the best way.
I hunted for software that would even let me preview the images rather than using Explorer and then multi select and rotate but couldnt find anything that did it and didnt fuck with the image at the same time. If someone else has a solution I'd love to hear it. Now you think in the age of digital someone could throw a mercury switch in the camera and record the orientation with the pic. Surely it wouldnt add much to the cost of the camera. Jayson

The software that came with my Canon G2 - Zoombrowser lets me multiple select pictures in the preview window and rotate them in the browser itself. No need to cut copy to diff folder and batch in photoshop. I dont think any software can identify the orientation of a picture automatically.
