Can Affiliates Drive Up The Cost Of Pay Per Click?

Do Affiliates Drive Up The Cost Of Pay Per Click? For example: LEt's say you
had a very unique niche or mainstream niche that nobody was really promoting on ppc other then you would you stay away from affiliate traffic for fear that they might compete against you on the same key words? Please give me you?re: 2 cents:

They surely can. It's probably not advisable to compete with yourself for traffic that you're paying. It may be wise to monitor the bids for the keyword and retract your own if an affiliate is vying for the same spot.

So if you retracted your ppc once you saw an affiliate competing for the key word would it help you or hurt you in terms of sales? Is it possible that this would save youd advertising money? Do sponsors ever set rules that prohibits affiliates from buying ppc and only allowing traffic from their site(s) ?

No sponsors definitely don't set rules regarding this but sponsors do sometimes bid up the keywords to the point where affilliates can't possibly make money on them.

I understand and that's the point. Is it worth spending the money on bidding up the key words ? OR would it be better to not have an affiliate program at all? If your affiliates were bidding on the same key wouldn't it also help dround out other sites competing on the same traffic?

There's no need to worry that your affiliates could outbid you, or drive up the costs of your PPC advertising because the most important thing to remember about your affiliates is that they're your business partners, working with you to market your product or service. Competing with them for a top spot is counterproductive, especially since your goal is to occupy as much of the search engine results page as you can with links to your site.

If your affiliates are taking the initiative to advertise on your behalf in the PPC search engines, don't waste your money outbidding them. Instead, check to see how much your competitors are bidding on keywords and spend your time and money keeping ahead of them. Your goal should be to outbid your competition, not your affiliates, for top placement in the PPC search engine results

Unfortunately there are a few sponsors out there that will not allow you to bid on their trademarked terms - it's a real shame as they don't know what they are missing - but I do agree - let your affiliates do the marketing for you on your stuff and use your money to go against your competitors

plenty of mainstream companies have lists of words specifically not to bid on for ppc campaigns because they run their own internally...

I haveto agree with sexxxychat69 ;-)

mahoney <-- as an affiliate of playerbucks, that activly promotes.. I'll work with you.

here you can start with a free $50 for ppc.
http://playerbucks.com/external.php?page=promo&nats=

plus 25% @sex.com

mahoney <--
For example: LEt's say you had a very unique niche "asian gay teen"

that nobody was really promoting on ppc other then you would you stay away from affiliate traffic for fear that they might compete against you on the same key words?

YES 4-sure.

you want to realize what ppc terms yield the highest traffic and costs the most, then take note of your competition. If you can 'corner' a market that has alot of traffic, COMMUNICATE your message clear to your other affiliates or sponsors. YOUR message is " hey guys why don't we all bid .10 for one or two days", everyone benifits and everyone will do it for a day. then it just DDRROOPPSS OUT. this shit happens.. esspicalliy with $130 mesothelioma cpc terms. I have personally seen a $498. cpc.. not shittin'

I so 20 listings buying over $350 ppc top was $498.

imagine calling the top 50 listings and get them all to sign off on a letter of intent stating that on nov. 25, 2005 adjest your bid for 1 or 2 days to .10...

let any search engine like google / yahoo.. think they run the WORLD..

i mean shit.. here is the perfect POWER to the PEOPLE.

hope this help;s, everything I speak of comes from my own experience's
