I have a problem with my LCD monitor (burn-in effect), plesae help

Hey guys, on my fathers pc, after I formatted it, there seems to be a major burn-in effect on his HP LCD display.

I checked device manager, and everything seems ok
I installed directX 9.0 and still nothing

what can I do to fix this image burn in problem?

my plasma had screen burn and a plasma repair guy told me to put a totally white pictures on the whole screen and turn the contrast and brightness up to max and leave it on for half a day and it burns out

I did it and it did help a quite a bit

if its been on for ages with the same pic or background then youre basically fucked.

did you check the driver n all? if windows didnt mess up? cant believe it just came up outa nowhere...

the plasma guy said what causes it is the little cells all get darker over time and were some are used all the time like with logos in the same part of the screen it wears them out quicker

so if you blast them all on for a while and its not too bad it kinda evens it out a bit

but if your shit blows up its not my fault ok

If it is an LCD screen it is called "Image Persistance" Unlike CRT monitors, image persistence or "Burn-In" is not permanent on your LCD panel. To recover from "Burn-In", leave the panel OFF for an extended time.

ok I fixed it, all I needed to do was bring the refresh rate higher
