Question about favicon.ico

I was reading about favicon.ico and how it is looked for by spiders. The article I read stated that you should create an image and name it favicon.ico to avoid any file not found errors found in the error logs. I am just curious if I put together an html page and have it linked to favicon.ico will the page also get spidered and is this a good idea?

I doubt anyone would now for a fact but i would say that's bad.

Google hunts down trickery like the worlds depends on it and getting banned is for real.

Here is cool free favico program, just make one:

Perhaps, I did explain my question clearly. I have a favicon.ico file that is a small picture, just as it is supposed to be.

My question is, if I was to link to that file with an html document, when the spider looks at the .ico file, is there a possibility that it would also spider the html file?

Unless there is a bug in the spider, no
