Avalance anyone driving one?

I was looking at one today, but I can't get the 6 liter, I have to get the 8.1 liter to tow my boat

I just wondered if it was good for driving and/or how you like it?

If your getting this go with the Escalade EXT

I don't think you get a choice of the bigger motor in the Caddy, just a 6.0L V8.

The Avalanches are on the same frame as the full size GM pickups, so if you've driven one of them you'll know what to expect. I like 'em but if you're used to a car then you might be disappointed.

I'm sure the Caddy will drive a lot nicer, plus they don't look as tacky as the Avalanche with all that plastic trim.

If you want true 4WD instead of just traction control, then get the Z71 Avalanche instead of the Caddy.

From what I have read so far the Avalanche uses the suburban chassis not the pickup chassis

I just want something bigger for the traffic around here (it sucks) and pickups aren't that versatile

I am gonna have to ask around and see what the owners think of the drivability, I need to get the 3/4 ton option with the bigger motor, 'cause the 5.3 won't pull my boat

the problem with that is I don't want to be hammered around with a overly stiff ride, just to get some towing capacity

It is kind of an ugly truck, but it's nice inside, and versatile

my neighbor has one, i drove it.

it takes about 5 minutes to get used to it.
only thing i would make sure to get is leather seats, but if you get the escalade ext, it's standard.

i prefer the escalade ext for styling, over the avalanche

the 6 litre will be enough to pull your boat or camper

Actually the Avanche is placed on a Suburban frame with the 5 point rear suspension .vs link springs.

I used to sell Chevy's before I went into porn!

I just picked this 4x4 up with the 5.3 v-8 vortec . The 5.3 is more than enough towing power .
