I guess they just put all the companies in that space out of business today. Gotta love google's control.

Not only is it free, it's the best in the space...

They bought Urchin not too long ago and this is the result of that integration.

I very much doubt that this will kill places like webtrends. Ask the companies that use webtrends or hitbox if they want to put a google adword ad on their page to track their stats.. I doubt they will say "oh awesome, its google, of course we'll give them free money!" .... also, google seems to be using urchin software to build these reports, which means webtrends pro stuff and hitbox's pro stuff can do much more than google can.

google has never been a "search engine" company - ive written about this as has many others.

google launched search engine just to make foundation for what Google really is.

Oh, and btw.. expect the geeks to flock away from google soon... google is doing everything that is bad in their books...

Google losing geeks is not going to be good. and oh god forbid if we see google NOT double their profits next term, the stock market will be devestated.

So, it's not a hidden counter? I wasn't aware of that... you're right, that could spell trouble!

Sign up and try to log in.

Doesn't look they are ready to roll quite yet. When I finally managed to log in, I got a "Down for Maintenance" notice.

                      Spend you some brain.

Yeah, gotta wonder... now google will know EVERYTHING about you. They will know what you buy on what site when and how often. They will so much better be able to target ads to you its not fun anymore...

This is EXACTLY why doubleclick basically died a few years ago. The geeks will go mad soon.

Doesn't look server side. That would go against google's whole point of offering this... they want access to info.

                                        it is a hidden counter.
I signed up and put it on my personal page
and there is no image, and no link.

I went to access the stats, but it looks like they are being hit real hard.
                                        It says down for maintence.

I have used Urchin reports for awhile and so I was talking to one of the guys. I mentioned it would be a great fit for AdWords customers to track incoming clicks, etc. He just smiled. I pushed on it and he just said they couldn't reveal future plans for the product.
