from what I've seen, people in Quebec tend to think they 'deserve' stuff more.
Higher contract and blue collar wages, more unions (they even tried to unionize a walmart), etc.
You can see it mirrored in their driving styles. more selfish behaviour, tailgating, less signalling.
It's funny watching them at the airport :) The minute 'preboarding' is announced (for elderly and people with children), everybody queues up.

that being said, some are great!

it's the fifth city I've lived in, and my least favorite.

Of course, there is an exception to every rule.

I think people arround here are pretty fucking friendly compared to some US cities ... mtl is a bit different from the rest thought, I gotta agree there. The driving in mtl is pretty fucking bad.

I'm from there. people keep asking me.. and after a while for some weird reason they start making up countries and cities they think I'm from.. (I was really from Ottawa before Montréal)
