Bike hits car at 155mph

I've never seen anything like this.

The Honda rider was traveling at such a "very high speed", his reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Swedish Police estimate a speed of ~250 KM/h (155mph) before the bike hit the slow moving car side-on at an intersection. At that speed, they predicted that the rider's reaction time (once the vehicle came into view) wasn't sufficient enough for him to even apply the brakes. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 10 feet from where the collision took place.

All three involved (two in car and rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at the Stockholm Motorcycle Fair by the Swedish Police and Road Safety Department. The sign above the display also noted that the rider had only recently obtained his license.

At 250 KM (155 mph) the operator is traveling at 227 feet per second. With normal reaction time to SEE-DECIDE-REACT of 1.6 seconds the above operator would have traveled over 363 feet while making a decision on what actions to take. In this incident the Swedish police indicate that no actions were taken

Everytime i see some asshat bolting up the middle of lanes and riding like he's in a race I wonder how long that guy is going to live. Some people that ride bikes have no clue. I feel for the driver and passenger.

I am trying to figure out how the rider ended up in the car, from the looks of that car, it is the same height, as the bike, the rider on the bike would probably have flew some 500 ft over the car, but then again, anything is possible when it comes to speed.

What slow ass fucker came up with that statistic?

Thats the risk that people take when they decide to ride a bike. In this case it was the bikers fault for going so stupidly fast.

I hate those fuckers on speed bikes, who accelerate to rediculous speeds and are incapable of controling their bike. That piece of shit killed two innocent people... why, because he was a fucking retard on the road. I mean dont get me wrong..I love racing and I love bikes, but going those speeds in areas where theres other traffic in unacceptable.

I agree completely.Allowing a 16yr kid to ride a bike that will go 155mph is crazy. Some kind of graduated license.Where they start on something smaller like a 175cc...etc.

No they meant that the rider had less than 2 seconds to take evasive action of some kind and they think he didn't react at all, just kept going forward - didn't take any action to avoid collision.

At that speed his chin was probably hugging the handlebars, and with an impact that violent there was probably no chance of him vaulting over the bars after the front wheel hit... the whole lot crumpled into the car instantly. Don't forget he was travelling at 227 feet per second.

Pretty bad looking.

BTW at that speed it's no wonder the car didn't see him. Could your eyes reliably acquire a bike that is 500+ feet away before you enter an intersection or start a turn?

Actually, I am a little surprised that he was allowed to own a machine like that.

I know in Germany there is a graduated scale, and I guess I presumed it was like that all over Europe.

In high school I saw a movie of a bike as it split a car right in half. I'm surprised the same didn't happen to this car.

And what exactly would the lesson be? That they were doing something completely and 100% Legal and that people in cars for some reason get upset cuz they are stuck in traffic so they think that the guy on the motorocycle should be to? If some asshole even fucking jokingly swerves his car towards me or tries to block me, I kick off their mirror... I have 5 mirrors under my belt.
