Not the case. Clearly we had the funds to pay the model. I had 13k plus invested into this job. I had an $13k balance due from a client that had paid $11k toward the job. Not like I didnt have history with this cleint and they had never not done what they said they were going to do before. Her contract clearly states that She was to be paid $1500.00 on her first shoot and $1000.00 each shoot thereafter until the job was complete. We did that like clockwork.. everytime. He contract also states thatthe balance of the contract would be paid when the cleint pays they remaining balance. With thsi client its never a day or two after shippment that I am paid. This time, it didnt work out that way. I got left holding the bag, lost all my profits and still had to honor her contract, since it was with me. There was no way that I would ever let a model say I didnt pay her, regardless of the situations and she knows how strongly I feel about that. We talked about that very thing many times before this situation came up. When I found out I wasnt going to be oaid my balance, yes, I went to her as a friend and explained the situation and ask for two weeks to pay her the reamaining $4500.00 Not a thing wrong with asking a fiiend for a bit of understanding in a situation like that. She freaked and threatened to tell everyone that I wasnt going to pay her and that I was ripping her off if I didnt pay her right then. Keep in mind... this was just minutes after I was the best thing since sliced bread to them. She was treated like gold here and she knows it. She was paid on time, everytime and I went way above the call of duty to advance them money on two occasions. Regardless on how she spins this I did exactly what I said I would do and they did not. I followed the letter of our contrat and personal agreement and they did not.
Whats really interesting is that a photographer in this industry would jump to the defense of a model in this indusrty without having all the information infront of them. But of course Dean.... models have never lied to you. I bet I cold find 20 models that would say you cheated them or ripped them off. Would any of it be true.... highly doubtful. Thats what alot of them do though.... trash talk people they have worked with. It goes on day in and day out. When she was here with me she was trashing after big program owner who I will not mention here. Telling me how she was ripped off a cheated. Now she went to you and I was that guy.... a wold lay money that they next guy she shoot with will hear shit about you. Im not sure why I am telling you this... you have been around long then i have. You should be explaining this to me. |
