If she wasn't underage and was 18 and you were 35 that would be different in many eyes (though not all). I got married at 19 to a 36 year old and it worked very well. However, being the man he was he would never have gone near me at 17.

Moral standards obviously vary per individual, but in my opinion -- it is wrong for an old man to date a young girl. There are very few exceptions if any at all.

Legally speaking, it is okay 17+ here in Missouri... thats just where they set the age for girls being able to make their own decisions (should be bright enough by then I guess to say no to old men).

I honestly have to moral issue with 17 in your personal life. If it works for the two of you, have at it. There is no difference between 17 and 18 anyway when it comes to maturity. Just lookin' up some info on the age of consent in Florida.

All sources I can find indicate marriage is legal at 16 (with parental consent). And 18 (without consent).

If that's the case - I retract my earlier posting and apologize for the comments.

In my personal opinion its still wrong...but apparently not in the eyes of the law.

I am 44 and my wife is 20... we are absolutely happy.

I'm 25 and I wouldn't be with a 17 year old for a several reasons

1, I will most likely have nothing in common with someone in HS.

2, I couldn't ask her to pick up some beer on the way home.

3, I care about about my image and that would reflect negatively on it.

4, It's illegal

5, I think it's corruptive to the girl (They need a few more years to mature mentally)
