So the real point here is that anyone that experiments - or makes a living off - SEO is always trying to find ways to tweak, manipulate and find loopholes in the algo game. One way is to get links listed on search results pages that have PR and then get those SERPs indexed if not already. So I'm quite happy when I go into my referrer log and see a link from Search.Blogger.com and check it out. Looks like they indexed me and i'm turning up very well for "teen cam" search. But what's nicer is the PR9 the search results page has. I'm thinking this is a seriously good thing IF I can get this particular search results page indexed. For the SEOs out there, a PR9 "hardlink" is about as good as it gets. So I do my little detective work and notice their robots.txt file: User-Agent: * Disallow: /? Disallow: /blogsearch? Disallow: /blogsearch_feeds? Disallow: /advanced_blog_search? Disallow: /blogsearch/advanced_blog_search? (All search results start with "?") Now Google sometimes doesn't behave but they look like they are here - a search on the search.blogger.com domain shows only the root page is indexed. My 15 seconds of bliss pretty much completely wiped out ... End of story. Back to the drawing board. Boo fucking hoo. |
