You need to follow your laws whatever they are.

If you host in the US you need to follow our laws but if you don't live here I wouldn't worry to much about it

why are they scared when this is US law?
So this means they can use content without 2257?

You don't need 2257 at all, especially if your hosting is located in Europe. You have to follow the local European rules but not the American ones. So if your host is located in the USA, you have to follow 2257, but if it's located in China, you have to follow the Chinese rules (i.e. no 2257 and no adult content at all ;))

The only reason you need 2257 if you are selling the content to the US guys.

I do not host in the US, I do not process with any US biller, I really do not care about any US law at all, as I live in Europe. First I have to follow the local laws of my country, where I live.

The funny thing with the USC2257 law is:

            1) You are not allowed to hand out this kind of information, as long as the model as not agreed to it and also the producer (if you are the 2nd) producer. If you are doing it, well, anybody in Europe can shot you for this. We have very strictly rules regarding personal data in Europe, it's different to the US. HEre your personal identy counts something
            2) In no Country of this World (except the US) an law could ever be applied to the history. A law, in every socialized country of this world, would always apply from the day it's made, but never to the past.

              Hmm i see...
so content providers can start selling no 2257 content to european webmasters without problems? Or conetnt who have scanned 2257 and no models holding ID?
Just scanned ID of model and model release?

I live in Europe and host in Europe, so as far as I'm concerned 2257 can go fuck itself.

Edit: I'd never buy content without proof of the model's age though, if the content provider goes under or whatever I don't want to be in a position where I have no proof content on my sites is legal.

Yes that goes for teens wich is normal, but for some mature models , 25+ is obviausly they are 18+

content without 2257 docs or with 2257 docs wich are just scanned and no model hold ID can be used by european webmasters ...
                          right?

you still should have known the answer months before the law became a reality.
that's just my 2 cents though. no offense intended.

Some of the stuff i have noticed, is how some of the us sponsors have their records offshore. Maybe they think the goverment won't go far to check and just stay local.

Maybe this wil come sometime, of course it will come, but then we are at

                                      2) In no Country of this World (except the US) an law could ever be applied to the history. A law, in every socialized country of this world, would always apply from the day it's made, but never to the past.
We have about 30.000 Sets and about 1200 DVD's with about 6 scenes per DVD. All docs are usually on paper and the Id shots are on slides or print as well. So, just imagine, you will find somebody who scan the docs per model for just $2. Well we are than easily at $72.000 (not counted you have also scenes with two or more actors). Any idea when we will get a return of investment for this?

So, luckely we are in Europe and any law wich ever will come out, will count from the day it's made and not 10 Years back.
