direct.. russian was against the war in iraq for two big reasons.. iraq was one of the few arms buyers left in world that would buy russian after the abissmal performance of russian equipment after the first gulf war..
2nd... russian had paid 50 billion dollars for several oilfield in iraq.. if fact russia wanted assurances that if war was to happen.. they wanted to keep the rights to those fields..and they wanted them intact.
