lol I think that's taking it a bit far.. :helpme
Personally I think this just proves once again, that you can't just ignore a group of people like what has happened to the Muslims in France and in much of the rest of Europe. Kinda the same thing we had happen in N.O. When people feel they have nothing to lose and the pressure has been building for as long as it has.. It only takes a little spark to start the fire. I'm just amazed that the authorities haven't done anything to stop all this. Leaving something like this unchecked is very dangerous for the entire region. |
Hahahahaahaha I think it's funny my brother just got back from there and showed me tons of snapshots. The "skinny" French who make fun of AMericans for being lazy and fat are getting fat. I need to get hold of some of those photos.
There were a shitload of French peeps in those pics who were FAT. They have been eating the fast food and fattening shit over there it looks like. Funny stuff. |
and no, they weren't American tourists. :-) My bro said that all the snapshots were of people speaking French only

hmmmm..... almost 1,000 attacks, most on Jewish women and children, by muslims in Paris over the last 4 years, but no word about that from you Metroporn Tour. Would they have your sympathy more if the Jewish community started burning cars and shooting at police? Or is the French Media even mentioning that situation at all? |

It's not just about "Muslims", - there has been an avoidance for decades of people living in slums around the French Mediterranean coast. It also don't help when some stupid mouth in the govt then talks about them as "scum". When there is a massive disconnect between, eg govts and people suffering, they end up erupting. It was similar in N.O. and same shit has happened in the UK on a smaller scale. |

and that has what to do with what is happening now? I think France is a nice place to visit, largely a beautiful country but not somewhere I would want to live. I am sure a good deal of that is based on not knowing enough of the language to have fully grasped the society the times I have been there. I like Belgium better..fell in love with that plucky little country over the years. From what I have followed on the news over the years and the French films, etc I have watched (which I know are just films) it seems there is a great divide in the country and a struggle with the fight to keep the country 'French' with what naturally happens when the world opens up and starts to mesh. One difference betweeen American culture and French culture I noticed when the banning of the headdresses in school was in the news was that in the States the idea is to have freedom OF religion while in France it is to have freedom FROM religion. It may not seem it but that is an important difference. Anyway, I am fully aware I am an outsider and rely on people to translate things for me so I can't have the entire picture. I do hate it when I hear people celebrating the city burning and the like....no one should wish that for anywhere. |
I'm just going to repost this, since MetroPorn Tour didn't answer the first time:
Just wondering... I don't remember seeing any threads by you outraged by the attacks on Jews in Paris by the Muslims there.... hmmmm..... almost 1,000 attacks, most on Jewish women and children, by muslims in Paris over the last 4 years, but no word about that from you Metroporn Tour. Would they have your sympathy more if the Jewish community started burning cars and shooting at police? Or is the French Media even mentioning that situation at all? |
Sorry Sarah, I just had to poke fun.
What is going on over there is sad and serious. Hope I didn't offend. |

I'm not French so I don't take offense but you have a point. Whenever I go to France (going for the day again in December to get booze for xmas) I hate it when I see daytrippers from the UK eating in McDonalds...all this fantastic fresh food around them and they go for le big mac. I am sure that is magnified by the actual French youth and I bet it frustrates the hell out of the older French that have the history of such great food. |

The US government would not get involved. It would be handled on a local or state level. |

So, you are justifying it? |
