Defining "powerful" is subjective - but I'd say anyone who owns/operates a site that can reach and influence very large demographics of people on a global basis...is considered powerful. i.e. Ted Turner, for instance. CEO's of Google, eBay...perhaps Yahoo. Matt Drudge. Stern.
