we wanted to take advantage of our local nude beach again before the winter took any opportunity to do so away from us for awhile, so today we packed up our cameras, a sassy metallic bikini, and hiked down. we took a bunch of pictures, both avec et sans bikini - beautiful weather, sky, ocean...

...but this particular picture cracks me up, though it's an excellent example of how well Halcyon's doing with our new (10k's worth of pictures in) camera (digital rebel xt). he makes me look so purdy! i love my little peeper in the background, classic:

I think it looks far better with him out of focus. You're supposed to be looking at tassy, the guy in the background is supplementary... it's still part of the image but it's the SECOND thing you see, adding a bit more to the meaning of the photo.

A shallower depth of field also makes the shot look more professional.

I shoot at nude beaches here in the Bay Area periodically. It always cracks me up because when we start it's just the model(s), me, and perhaps a second camera person and/or a person working the reflector.

By the time we finish, there is a huge throng of people behind me watching...

Since it's a public beach there's not much we can do but grin and bare it = )

The applause is always nice when we finish up.
