Me mate, although after some rather unhappy incident I don?t dive anymore. Check out Campbell River (Canada, BC). They sunk a battle ship there a few years ago? really nice to go diving around there. Oh yes, and Rock bay is great for pulling canon balls.

All the best?

Haha...the only one I have not done is the one in Campbell River. Done the Chaudieur, Mackenize and the one off of Nanaimo......pretty cool dives.

Where's Mike? Still looking for him....

Yea, Campbell River is a nice place for diving. The battle ship they sunk was the one that was used in that x-files episode where they are trapped on a ship and get old really fast.

The only bad things about Campbell River are the extreme currents.

I love diving. The water is starting to cool off down here in Miami (79 degrees F), so I have to wear my shorty now, but from June to October the water stays about 85 F, even 80 feet down.

Love that!

I was diving for lobster about a month ago, great time and I managed to grab 4 bugs. :-) Its' great to have reef and wreck dives only 15 minutes away in tropical water.

I would be totally up for a dive trip anytime!

MaxCandy 11-09-2005 11:22 AM

Anyone ever dive near GOA? Gonna be there for xmass

Maxy 11-09-2005 11:26 AM

I went scuba diving in Hilo, Hawaii. It was a trip, definitely gonna go next change I get.

this thread makes we want to dig out my bc / regulator and dive computer. been years since I've had a good dive. Last one was a spectacular night dive in Turks and Caicos, lots of awesome octupus and sharks, but at the time, I only had an ok camera in the underwater housing :) nothing like ur quality pics.

a good dive is better than bad sex

Lionheart 11-09-2005 02:36 PM

I would tend to agree with that.

UniversalPassLorence 11-09-2005 02:58 PM

I do it annually at the various resorts (so not much), and I love it. Last one was at Turks & Caicos, which was awsome :thumbsup

MaxCandy 11-09-2005 03:35 PM

ever had sex underwater aka 30m club, trick is vasalene, otherwise sea water chaps

KCat 11-09-2005 03:39 PM

Great pics! I've only gone a couple of times (Australia & Mexico), but I would love to move somewhere near the ocean so I could get out regularly. Damn prairies!

JACASS 11-09-2005 03:51 PM

Divemaster myself. The Campbell river wreck is great, as well as Nanaimo. Good times! Seems as there are a few PNW divers here...a industry trip should be very possible! Warm water would be nice, but as Far-L states...Dry Suite baby!

Awesome pictures... their world is so much larger than ours considering the oceans cover the majority of the earth. It's just incredible the breadth and scope of living things beneath water.

MaxCandy 11-09-2005 04:18 PM

true and there is stuff no man has seen yet

tranza 11-09-2005 05:28 PM

Completely reasonable on the price but where do you keep the boat that people would have to get to?

Also... the list of Pacific Northwest Divers is growing and I agree that we should all get together for some dives. I might be up to BC in the beginning of December. If anyone wants details and would like to dive with us then let me know asap and i will firm up the plan.

Let's chase some sixgills down! Might be up to B.C in December. Leedsfan from masktv is up there too and an avid diver as well.

Lionheart 11-10-2005 04:17 PM

No Six Gills this year. Not sure where they all went....oh and they are only up in the summer....not the winter. But I can arrange a great trip for December in Nanaimo if you guys want.

Dove in Coz lots of times....it is really a great spot to go.

I started my training, but did not finish because of my ex wife. Now I just dont have the time.

If you want to do some great cave diving in fresh water., Hit the Gainesville FL. area.

lagwagon 11-11-2005 01:18 AM

I used to live on Guam and I would dive there all the time. I guess living on and Island did have some good things about it. lol

Validus 11-11-2005 01:30 AM

Diving is great but VERY dangerous, especially if you are doing prop work or night dives? or deep dives? or a combination. Done it, won?t do it again. :)

Used to scrub barnacles from boats and change props on boats. Wohooo? cold hard times.

He's talking about commercial diving, not sport diving.... two VERY different things.

Commercial diving can and is, very dangerous.....and will also make you old before your time. I know a couple of guys that do it. They are in their 30s, but look like they are in their late 50s, and they have all kinds of scars, and are starting to have health problems.
