				 | If I were you I'd choose a Nikon Coolpix P2 . problem with Nikon is that they're shock sensitive. check also canon A520 - badass quality for the price but a bit bigger.

A520 is the next generation and has 2 batteries, I've read they have better LCDs with low energy consumption. Also A520 has a nice feature which was available only on some pro cameras before : when you zoom the flash will focus only on the area covered by the ccd.

				 | i have canon ixus 700 (sd500 in US i guess). 7.1 mega pixels. fantastic shots and it's super-tiny and has metal casing. i've heard they have made ixus 750 already - so don't forget to check this one too.

				 | pocketsize? casio exilim s500...never heard of it? review here longer battery life than any others in this thread too... if not the S500, go with a nikon p1 or p2...seriously the BEST point and shoots available today...the canons are CRAP in comparison, and the kodaks are made from a cheap plastic |

				 | I got the Canon Powershot S2 IS - very good, 12 optical zoom 4Xdigital, 5MB pixel, swivel screen (spelling?), great movie quality, point and shoot or fully manuel. A bit more expensive an a bit bigger, but a damn great cam. Battery time is the best you will get. IS = image stabilizer. |

				 | the biggest prob with very compact digicams is they do not have fast lenses. so they need lots of light because they are using very small f/stop (small piece of glass to keep weight and size down). the technical compromise is then to make the sensor over sensitive---which causes grain. small compact cameras are satisfactory if shooting outdoors. but for the smut peddler they aren't so good---because many times you will need to shoot indoors where folks are more apt to have their clothes off. and if you have a very small compact and you are shooting candids this will require on-camera flash. and IMO this makes skin and eyes look very unattractive. (see image above in this thread) if you must get a small compact that can shoot acceptable nude people you must get one that can work without flash in avail light...this requires a decent lens, and a fast lens (big f/stop capability). the big fast lens also will allow depth of field isolation which is usually needed for pleasing aesthetics when working indoors because rooms are usually cluttered when doing fast candid shooting. so choose the camera for the quality and speed of the lens, not whether it will fit in your pocket if you need something that can shoot without flash. my choice for small compacts: lens speed: olympus 5050 series (f/1.8) or canon G series (slightly slower lens but very good color) at least with these compacts you can get decent images. |

				 | I have the PS A80 and no complaints. Not quite pocketsized, but its a great camera. I guess if you wore baggy pants its pocket sized. Or if you're wearing jogging pants and heading out to the strip club. ;)
