How seriously do you take domestic violence against men?

We have a high profile case here in the UK today where the most famous newspaper editor in the country was arrested for attacking her husband who is a very well known soap actor.

Now, I know for personal experience that domestic violence against men it real...my husband's ex-wife had put him in the hospital with broken ribs and threw a knife at him while he was holding their daughter...our bedroom door still has the knife mark in it. When he called the police they laughed at him. OKay, that was 15 plus years ago but still. Had he raised his hand to protect himself he would have been in jail.

So...if you hear of a man being the victim of domestic violence at the hands of a woman how do you react?

i called the cops on a gf who was going nuts on me, instead of beating her down and getting myself arrested, i called the pigs..... it may have backfired if she kept her composure and tried to say it was ME doing the abuse (they would always side with the woman if she were believable), but luckily she was DRUNK off her tits and was telling the police to fuck off and that her dad (prominent businessman) would have them fired, etc... They came to the door, explained they were going to hog tie her, and asked if i wanted to press charges. i said no, but i dont want her around here... they took her to her parents house at 3am lol

anyhow, that was my experience with domestic violence

I think its a bigger problem than most think.
Many men are to embarressed to report it or is afraid to hit back cause they know they will get the blame if the police shows up.

I'd react the same way as if it was a woman abused by a man. With disgust. I certainly don't think like a lot of other men think, that he must be weak. That's just bullshit.

In fact, if anything, that thinking can lead to physically abused men. How many times has it been posted on GFY...do NOT strike a woman under ANY circumstances? While I certainly don't advocate beating or hitting women, if a women came running at me with a knife, I'd do what I could to take her down...with the same respect she was showing me...NONE. I wouldn't see a woman running at me. I'd see a deadly weapon running my way. My life is worth more to me than worrying about doing the politically correct thing and not hitting a woman in SELF DEFENSE.

Abuse isn't a gender biased thing, except perhaps to the media. Just like there's bad people of every race, there's bad people of every gender. Many of whom USE their race or gender to their advantage...usually ONLY when necessary. For example, defending themself in court like in the case you've mentioned above.

I have been there
My ex wife was/is a very abusive person , both mentally and phsyically.
She was always throwing things hitting me and the kids
screamming at the top of her lungs swearing, insulting ETC.
Finally after a couple of years of this shit, I said fuck being politically correct I dropped the bitch and then had her arrested.
the good thing is the people next door to me were friends and they always heard what went on in our home and they backed me on what was going on, enough to help me get her the fuck out and with the help of a bunch of great people in this biz I was able to get over the divorce and losing the house etc, with the help of StuartD I was able to get custody of my daughter.
So all is good now but for awhile there I thought I was stuck in hell forever.

Its very serious and in fact a lot of men suffer from it.....

My Ex was verbally abusive and when I said that its over, I am leaving she pulled the big ass chopping knife and came after me.... Luckily I moved and she sent the blade into the wall behind my shoulder.....

That night I left our house, called the police, she sat for a few hours and the next day our house was listed for sale......

I could have snapped her neck with my bare hands, but, I wouldnt give her that satisfaction of getting me jammed up with the man

I think society in general has very little concern for that, probably about as much as man on man rape in prison or elsewhere. Men are supposed to handle their bizzznass wherever they are, anything less is their fault.

i usually put they're head in a plastic bag until they stop breathing. take them out to the sierra mountains and drop them in a secluded place which no one has been to in all its existance. then have a friend as an aliby.

all joking aside.. its a fucked up deal. ive woken up to my ex gf stradling me with a knife clinched in her hand looking like a bitch straight out of hell. got the knife from her and carried her screaming and biting all the way out to the street. good thing i left that crazy broad when i did. she got all depressed started doing speed, had a kid, and now lives off her new bf's parents. moral of the story is crazy bitches are the root of all evil.

why do we have to compare? we're different, accept it. a man that is being mistreated by his woman and sticking with her is...VERY SPECIAL in my opinion. there must be exceptions to the rule I guess. I for one wouldn't be afraid to hit a woman and fracture her skull in half after she hit me. i think most women take for granted that they cannot get hit by a guy and often proceed to push their luck. Then i'd be in deep shit though.
