Wars suck!!! They suck big time!!!
There might be Victory and Honour for the rich but for the poor it is only suffering and death.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way cause I do care about people and kids all over the world that don't have what they need to help them live. But what about the people and kids in the US that are starving or don't have a roof over their heads. Shouldn't we first help those close to home first?

The United States is a very rich nation that spends more on it's military than on education and social services combined.

At the height of the cold war it was estimated that if the United States stopped its spending on its nuclear weapons program for 6 months. The resources could have been used to erradicate world hunger in that time period.

Sorry to be cold and come across as bitch. And let me go on record as saying that the good old USA is a beautiful country with some wonderful people. (Spend some time in Mobile Alabama and you will know what I mean.)

But to be blunt, if rich countries like America want to every child in their nation to have a meal and roof over their heads... Then they should get their priorities straight.

I'll admit you make some excellent points in your reply babe. I spend lots of time and money supporting local things that help kids that live here in Ringgold. We have toy drives each year for kids that won't be having christmas and the toys for tots that the marines have. I'll even admit that I send some cash to the over seas efforts. Like I said there is nothing wrong with helping those that are in other countries..

Donations won't help them so much, but it's worthwhile still. Economics will save them though if their Governments were not so incompetent. Wages there are even less than those India, if they got their arse into gear they could cash in. Hell, even China is starting to outsource to Africa.

Giving money, food or aid is not the solution. It never has worked and never will. And the reason is simple, though very harsh.

Starvation anf famine is natures way of saying, "You have too many people living off the land you have."

Now whether you can teach them to use the land better or to stop killing each other is another mute point.

I lived through the 50 and 60 when most of africa was rebelling to get rid of the evil white colonialists. So how much better have the black rulers been for the people of their countries?

The Europeans were there to make a profit, the profits mostly came from agriculture, now these same countries (run by corrupt rulers who are rich anf fat0 are bankrupt, unable to feed themselves and asking the "White" nations of the world for handout. When was the last time a Muslim oraginised a Live Aid type event?

Look at Zimbabwe, under Smith it exported food, under Mugabe people die of starvation.

And I will not even touch on the genocide of black against black.

Their excuse is it's all the Whites fault. So why is India growing at such a rate and Africa is falling behind? Same situation different leaders and people.

Save a child today and in 20 years time the problem is twice as bad.

Save a million and in 20 years 3 million are starving.

Solution is put the Europeans back in charge. Nothing else will work for 99% of the black people in Africa. Unless they learn from South Africa.

Well I don't think you'll ever see white people back in charge there. But your point on India is very correct. African Governments are incompetent, and really couldn't give a fuck about their country (they still remaing rich). My opinion is honestly that the west should overthrow some of these Governments. Take Mugabe for example, the West should of stepped in long before this happened. One Australia Special Forces squad could overthrow that Government. Instead, now the country will be fucked for the next 100 years.

The only things I honestly care about are this.

1) The right to live your life in safety and be left alone in peace without criminal, rebel or goverment interference.

2) Have a good meal in your stomache.

3) Have a roof over you head.

4) Adequate medical and medicine available to everyone reglardless of social economic class.

5) Dignity and respect for all humanbeings.

These are the rights that should be guaranteed by international law.

Solution is put the Europeans back in charge. Nothing else will work for 99% of the black people in Africa. Unless they learn from South Africa.

I told you why, it's their culture. you can't change the way people think, their values, culture and beliefs in a few years. It takes decades.

The people of Yugoslavia, Iraq, Iran, Zimbabwe and many other places in the world can see what they are doing. They are not stupid or blind. Their leaders can see what is happening in the real world, they have an idea of what is happening. Yet they choose to go another route.

Look at the fear generated by Bush and the way the US followed him into a war and some remain to follow him even though it's now clear the reasons were false. The US is mostly an intelligent country.

Now look at these other countries. The truth is that one side would rather kill the other side in a war that started 500 to 3500 years ago, rather than bury the hatchet and make life better for themselves.

Just when we were getting along.

I admit that sometimes I have to raise my eyebrow at someone's "Culture." And I admit there is room for improvement in every single culture and method of thinking.

But I don't think anyone is better than the next. I think these people need to be taught economics and resource management. In some cases how to get along. However, everyone has the right to worship, dress, love, etc as they wish.

And I completely agree with you. We as people of Rich Nations need to ask the questions that deal with how are we going to bring these people up to our level.
