Would this match my bike? It is one a spcially prepped diablo with insane turbos that bolt you to 240+ MPH. The guy wants $195,000 for it, but is willing to make a deal.

I'll split it with someone???

How come all your pics are taken on the sidewalk in front of a motorcycle dealership?

No, that is the 99' R1. It is just tricked out. 144 RWhp.....Oh, and about the location of the pics, I lived in Florida for a year then moved to California in this December. My bike has been sitting in Florida ever since. So, I was going to sell it and had pics taken. I decided to keep it and it had it shipped last week. It gets to Cali on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Have any of you seen the Video Judgement Day, I am in it on this bike banging wheelies.

After learning to ride on a CB 360 (anybody 30+ has owned at least ONE .... LOL) ... I bought my first REAL bike ...

1983 Katana GS1100SD

Damn near killed myself on that bike too ... I was forced into the gravel at 150 km/h, by a vette doing my guess was 200+

I fought the gravel for at least 1000 yards, before spilling it ...
An aweful lot of bike for a 19 year old kid to pick up

I had the tank and frame repainted (forks were remarkably fine ), and sold it a week later ...

I have had several bikes since then, my absolute favorite being a 1988 GS750 (sorry ... can't find a pic) with a Wolfe 4 in 1 pipe that sounded like Lucifer growling ...

I might be moving to Calgary this summer, and if I do, plan to get a bike out there, as insurance on anything under 750cc is like $300 for the entire year !!
(hell of alot cheaper than insuring 2 cars ... and far more FUN!!)

I am kind of in a dilemma of what bike to buy for this summer. I learned on a Katana 600 and it was cool but I grew out of it pretty fast.

I was at the Cycleworld Dealership in Toronto last weekend and sat on the Suzuki GSXR 600 and it felt small to me. It has a lot of balls for a 600 but it still feels kind of small (I am 6"0, 215lbs)

I also checked out a really cool ZX-7 that felt really comfortable and also had a crazy paintjob...

Me thinks I will most likely go with a 750+ bike as long as my insurance is not too crazy. I don't think I am quite ready to jump to the 1 liter bikes quite yet.

I would go with a 1000 if I where your size. I bet you would like the Suzuki TL1000, GSXR 1000, or the R1. You can find some sweet deals at www.traderonline.com

Well, besides the post made by SykkBoy and The Indigo, all I am seeing is a bunch of dirt bikes.

Currently, I have a 1986 Heritage (only 1700 made), and a 1968 Shovelhead (built from scratch)

Historically, in order, street bikes I have owned: 1969 Triumph Trident 750cc (chopped with Santee hardtail, and an extended glide front end), 1942 4-5 flathead (chopped with 8" over glide front end, p-nut tank, drag pipes), and a 1949 panhead (modified stock, 86" bored and stroked, 5" S&S flywheels, Andrews B grind cam, close ratio geared tranny, suicide shift, and more), also built from scratch.

Dirt bikes from my motocross years include Honda 90 (bored and stroked to 100cc), Hodaka Ace 100, Yamaha 250 TT, Bultaco Mettise, and a couple others that do not come to my immediate recollection.

Will have to go thru my photo albums and scan some pics in later, if there are any real bike enthusiasts here.

Perhaps with your monitor you can make out BSA, but even after you said it was there, and I tried to make my mind see it, there is no way. But I did recognize the Lucas electrics, so made an educated guess, which I will pat myself on the back for the accurate first guess

those are woven of actual string-cobalt with extra scotchguard i think.... and i am swooning over the patent leather, die with authentic India ink (from India even!!)...

I bet that thing has torn up a few toddlers in its time... it has much more torque than the '76 ES chopper I had, (I also had many peddle problems with it, bum deal)

well that explains why I did not see BSA anywhere on it. But Triumph the best? I initially tried weighing whether or not there was a possible argument that Triumph was the best English bike, but have to say that even if you could provide an argument for Triumph over the BSA Goldstar (highly doubtful), I do not see how you can say that unless you were going to totatlly blow off the Norton, or the Matchless, or the Ariel Square 4, the Vincent, or any number of other Brit bikes.

and no need for further doubt, even the primary site says BSA

Guy Scheers, from Belgium, is the proud owner of this BSA M20. Here's another view, and one before restoration.

He writes, "I found the old rusty bike in the garage of my grandmother when my grandfather past away. Before he died, I was not allowed to get in there, because his son (My uncle) died in an accident with the same type of bike.

The BSA was collecting dust for over 27 years! It was a pleasure to restore the bike. Fortunately I got some help from my brother, who you can see working on the picture.

Riding the bike is like... heaven.

Special thanks to my grandmother, my lovely girlfriend (Inge), my sister (Cindy) and my brother (Rudy).

well, I am certainly not going to argue that it is not a BSA, as that was my first guess, I just figured TaDow would know what kind of bike he had. Of course, this is the same guy that said that Triumph was the best. Have to admit, I found that pretty humorous.

So, without looking it up, anyone here know what BSA stands for?
