Yes, your loss for not making the trip out to Vegas for Internext. A good time and you learn some and get some business done.

BlingDaddy 11-01-2005 11:08 PM

Okay.... no to be a total "biiiiiatch" but,

1. Ya, Passes
2. Roundtrip air fare
3. Hotel Accomodations
4. Transportation
5. All meals

Now that a fucking contest worth posting - "Not another Torrid Statsystem" is worth.

I have a good time here. I get business done here. And I would drive to Vegas to pay to enter a show, (where people should be looking for me) why?

As I have never been to one of the shows I can not comment on the quality of the show(s) and the value of any contacts made at the shows.
I will be there (Las Vegas) for other reasons and as the shows fall during the time frame I will be there I have decided to go to the show(s) this year to see if there is anything of value to be gained. If I find that the show(s) are a waste of time then I most likely will not attend one again.
For anyone that does plan on going to the show this contest by John is a nice one as it will save someone $650.
I do agree that the cost of lodging is quite high and the ticket price is steap.

Would you like some hookers & crack to go with that? Perhaps we could have a nice new home and car waiting for you when you get back. Let me fill up a retierment fund for you too.

Amazing when people complain about free shit.

You just made my whole point.......... You're going to be there "anyway" is what you're saying.....

Saving someone $650? I have a WHOLE LOT OF TRAFFIC for $650, and it doesn't include me jerking off at some show.

What's "amazing" is you call it "free shit" are you offering any webmaster who posts here free badges to Internext? If so, I'll break out the midgets and the booze.

We're giving away 2 free badges, yes. What is so hard to understand?

As this is a semi-public message board he has the right to post as he wishes.
Just chalk it up as a few free bumps to get closer to the 200 post mark.
I can see his point about the other costs of attending the show but to me they are all just more business expenses. If I truely knew that attending the show would be of no value to me I most likely would not want to attend either.
I have to think that I will at the very least make some new connections and learn a few things at this show. I know there will be lots of partying and so and and that is all good but I would hope to actually be able to bring back some value to my company from the show.
BTW you can keep the hookers and the crack but I will take the house, car and retirement fund. :winkwink:

Okay....... free bagdes to "internext" are worthless.... they are overpriced as it is.

Do me a favor...
1. SPONSORS - List why "internext is important to you"
2. WEBMASTERS - List why "Internext it important to you".

I the year+ I have been on this board nothing amazes me on here anymore.
He stated his view and bumped your thread.
If there is no value to your free offer to him then so be it.
I am quite certain that as this thread reaches the 200 mark you will see many more people who would like the free badges.
In one thread awhile ago I won something that had no value to me but I found an associate that it had great value to and transfered it to them.
Your offer is a great offer and some lucky person will enjoy the savings.

Let's see it! :thumbsup

Let's see....

Last year we generated a lot of sales for our software from our booth and seminars we did.
It's a trip to Vegas I can write a lot of off :)
I get to see and spend time with friends that I don't get to see too often.
I enjoy the parties/events held in conjunction with the show.
I got a look at all of the new things people were doing/selling/hyping/etc.
I don't do the seminars so I can not comment on them.

It's an enjoyable trip and a good pulse of the industry. There is a lot to learn and be done if you know how to do it right.

Net,
The best part is what you said.... if you are a serious webmaster, save your cash... You can't write off what you get in "free" passes to a show it actually costs you MONEY to attend.
Bling.

So only non-serious webmasters go to Internext?

Let's see it! :thumbsup

Something like this should have its own thread IMO.
I would also like to know as I have stated I have never attended one of these events.

For me and my company I hope to make some new contacts and actually put faces to the ICQ Numbers and email address of the people I do business with. I also hope that I can learn a thing or two from some of the seminars.
I may end up disappointed but I will never know unless I attend.
As for the partying and what not I can do that here without flying across the country but since I will be there I will enjoy that as well.

It's nice to see 2 things.......
1. You generated alot of sales......
2. You can "write it off".

You generated alot of "sales" because of? Was is the seminars? or the Software?

At least you can "write it off". This is exactly why webmasters don't care about "free passes" (yaaaaa) at least in my opinon. You mean........ I get to win a TOTALLY FREE FUCKING PASS? That's AWESOME! Will you show me how your new program scrubs even better?

I'll send you a picture..... and be wise... an ICQ number and e-mail do not affect your bottom line. You can shake my hand anytime you like, but unless there's cash in it, it does you no good.

You're so angry :)

Our software doesn't "scrub" anything. IPSP and Gateways scrub.

The sales were generated by meeting and spending time with people at our booth and the demonstrations of our software. Putting a face to a name and meeting a person goes a long way with a lot of people.

The people who met us at the show and got to know us and our software benefited from being at the show that way.

Writing something off will save you whatever your tax bracket is off the cost. Let's say that adds up to 40% or so with federal and state taxes assuming you're in the top federal bracket. Winning them here would save you 100% so sure, it has a benefit. It's fun and it's free. Again, I don't get why you're so angry about everything.

If you're spending the $3000 you made last month at your day job to go to the show to get free drinks and pretend you're a webmaster then you're right, it's not a good idea. But at that point you shouldn't even be in the business to begin with.

If you want to seriously be in the industry, learn, and grow within the industry you should definately be at Vegas Internext as it's the largest industry show.

If you don't want to go to the show don't go. Your anger and screaming about how it's stupid and an absolute waste makes me think you're just a part timer in this industry, that you don't take it seriously, and that you'll never become very successful in it. I could of course be 100% wrong tho :)

Bling.

The free passes can not be written off but the cost of airfare, lodging, transfers and meals can be written off. Doing business cost money. I have a budget for my company for events and seminars and to be honest this event when coupled with the other reasons I will be in Las Vegas will actually not cost me and my company much.
I will buy my passes unless someone provides me with passes and attend the show(s). I have to believe that I am a serious Webmaster and am taken aback by your statement above.
I have to assume that you have been to a show or so and have not gained anything from it. I hope that I do not have the same results.

Buddy, why don't you let the people enter the contest if they want to? Just because you don't think its a great idea doesn't mean you can hijack the thread.

Be polite, give your opinion and wish people luck for the contest...

I guess I come from a different business background than you. I meet people day in and day out that do not have cash in hand to give me. However after meeting these people they tell others of my company and our services and I do the same in return for them. If they know someone who can use my services they inform them of me and that generates cash for my company.
As my company's main focus is non-adult I am not sure the quality of the contacts that I will make at these shows for my company. I can only hope that since I do run a number of adult related sites that I can either gain information to increase my revenue or create beneficial traffic trades with the people I meet. Again I will never know unless I attend and see for myself. I do value your opinion on the shows and hope I will not be disappointed.

BlingDaddy 11-01-2005 11:59 PM

I'm not "angry" at all... :) I'm really quite happy. :) So here you go....

That's cool.... but, what I know from others shows that "software is fallible".

My "TAX BRACKET" is so high, I don't even have to pay FICA this year.... does that count?

Typically, $3000 won't even cover my weekend. I don't have a "day job" and furthermore, I'm not in the "business" I'm a webmaster, not a lackie.

If I want to be in the "industry" I won't be looking for $2 handouts from people that want me to promote their "program".
