Who has had freckles/ moles/ sun spots removed?

Laser, scalpel, bleach, do they all leave a white spot behind? I dont think white spots are better than light brown spots. The more I tan the more I get. I stopped tanning.... for now.

i had a mole removed once.. they did it with a knife , it left a small scar , but much nicer looking than the mole was no white spot.. just a little pink line , like a normal scar

tanning brings out the "melatonin?" faster in the freckles/moles than the rest of your skin , so its not strange that they stand out more , the more you tan..

If its a mole they usually cut out twice as much or three times as much from under the skin as the size of the mole ( like an iceberg ) , but its not painfull or a hole after. They pull the skin around it and sew it up

The only ones that bother me are on my face. I dont want craters left behind. Acually they are more common on my face than the rest of my bod combined. I can't explain why unless its because that pillow in the tanning bed elevates your face closer to the bulbs.

I emailed 5 doctors today but they'll say anything. Gimme feedback if you have any.

I am fair skinned/blonde/blue eyes and have lived my entire life in Florida- so needless to say, I have had several 'suspicious' spots looked at. Each time they have cut them out and done biopsies and luckily no cancer yet. *knocks on wood*
Some people's scars will keloid (sorta a raised red area) and others will have barely a mark left behind. The 2 deciding factors are the location of the cut and your genetic background (some people are predisposed to worse scaring). If your scar does keloid speak to your doctor about a steroid shot. Typically this will diminish the scar a lot.
I haven't tried the fake tanning products but have read a lot of positive press on them. Apparently they have improved them greatly.
My Mom works with a skin cancer specialist who performs a high-tech surgery called MOHS. My Mom uses a machine to freeze the skin tissue so that it can be spliced super thin and then she checks them under a microscope to see if the doctor has removed everything entirely.
I typically go in to see him 2 times a year just to be on the cautious side.

I love the outdoors so in order to still be able to enjoy all my activities I have made a compromise to myself and have become very conscientious about wearing sunscreen.

Thanks for the info.

Is the part the sun screen blocks the same part that gives me a sexy tan?

Yea it does, however if you are regularly in the sun and use sunscreen you are still going to get some sun (ie: color). You will be doing much much less damage.
I would suggest trying the sunless stuff, who knows maybe they are really good now days.

When i had mine removed the doc said " this will leave a little scar" and i said " at least its not on my face " and he said " actually if it were on your face you would likely get no scar at all , the face heals alot better "

But even though they dug fairly deep in , it left no "crater" i wouldnt be worried about that, the outcome looks 10 times better than it did before. well worth it.
