You could have statsremote or some kind of server health monitor running on the second screen, so it's always visible. I'm just about to move to dual head myself.

You were too ahead of your time back then. :winkwink:

The little black box to the left of the amplifier is a Squeezebox. I did write a plugin to display current daily revenue on that (I always wanted something like that, ever since I was a kid), but I've changed affiliate partners so many times I gave up writing the scrapers to do it :)

yada yada yada who cares how many monitors someone has as long as they do their work.

Quite the opposite. If you were doing things right, you'd want as many monitors and computers as possible in both your office and home to increase your productivity and make even more money :winkwink:

I see lots of pics here of people with big ass screens running browser windows in fullscreen. That's about the biggest waste of desktop real estate I've ever seen. No wonder most need 2-4 monitors! See marklondon's post above, the best example of intelligent use of monitor space.

marklondon has a nice setup but I still wouldn't be able to be as productive with just one monitor.

I guess I'm just a hobbyist ..

Looks great though, and it's all wireless. Am nevertheless tempted to replace it with a $10 traditional keyboard for daily practical use. Or hire a typist.

Here's my setup - 23" 1920x1200 overlooking the river in central London:

And I really don't need a second monitor. I have a wall:

my optimal setup was 14 workstations 3 monitors, 2 dual 21" NECs, and a 21" SUN

Yngwie 11-12-2005 10:32 PM

I use my 19 inch monitor AND my 36 inch tv lol.. does just fine

V_RocKs 01-16-2011 02:44 PM

100 hobbyists.

adendreams 01-16-2011 03:18 PM

I use a 12 foot wide screen with a DaLite Glass bead screen/4000 lumen projector 20 feet away from me - do I qualify?

Hentaikid 01-16-2011 04:28 PM

I have my desktop and laptop side by side, sharing mouse and keyboard with synergy...

But honestly I often feel that it's making me LESS productive rather than more...

Multiplicity is like synergy but not free?

Rochard 01-16-2011 04:29 PM

I have one monitor, wide screen, and that's fine. I also have a TV to my left, and on my right is a touchscreen used only for email. That's more than enough.

Chosen 01-16-2011 05:04 PM

I'm not using monitors at all :)

suesheboy 01-16-2011 06:02 PM

Using at least 2 monitors has seriously increased my productivity.

The best part about this thread is that all of the specs that people used to consider hardcore are now standard.

GAMEFINEST 01-16-2011 06:28 PM

Now That's a Setup

Re Brad Gosse

I figured a 27" iMac would do it all, but that is a great set up.

jonnydoe 01-16-2011 10:39 PM

3. A 22 inch wide in the middle and two 15 inch on each side for email, testing, hulu, etc. Perfect for me.
