Pain will be gone....Problem sloved.... |
I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled out soon and I'm soooo scared. Did anyone here ever have the procedure done? Do they yank it out like any other teeth or do they have to do an operation? I heard it requires some type of real minor oral surgery....is this true? Does it hurt a lot?
|
I've had all my wisdom teeth pulled... yes, it is surgery.... yes it hurts... yes there will be pain for awhile.... but it's necessary to continuing with life.
|
OK, out of my bag of tricks all I can offer is to pinch your earlobe on the side that is hurting. Strong steady pressure may take the edge off the pain. You might try a clothespin with some thing like gause to make it more comfortable. The other is for general pain and that is to rub the webbing between your thumb and fingers. It will probably hurt like hell, but can also help.
Go get that puppy yanked! |

And what happens if you don't get your wisdom teeth pulled out? I'm scared of dentists :( |
nope, they don;t give you nothing. it's cruel and you can loose your senses from pain. Some people say it's worse than cutting your foot....good luck with it :thumbsup

Get one of those warming pads or a hot water bottle and strap it to your jaw. You'll look like a moron (I know I did) but it works - to a point. I did it for three days while I waited for a double root canal - only way I could stay sane. Either that or go down the emergency ward at your local hospital and ask for a shot of the good stuff. |

if you don't get them pulled? You'll be in agony until you do. |
Damn.
Gotta get my teeth pulled out. :( On top of that I need some root treatement. Not until tuesday though, they just temporarily fixed it.. shit. It's gonna be expensive too. |
sorry to resurrect this thread....but my wisdom are starting to ache, and I know I have to make an appointment with the dentist to have them removed soon, before it gets any worse...
My question is this....should I just get the general shot (to numb me) while I have the procedure done, or go under FULL anasthesia (go to sleep like in a major operation) while I have this done? I admit that I'm a big wimp, and I'm scared shitless of the dentist. I don't know if I can stand being awake and fully conscious of the dentist cutting open my gums and sewing me up :( I know that you can ask to be put to sleep if that's what you want. So did you guys just get a shot to numb yourselfs while getting your wisdom teeth removed, or did you go to sleep? |
Well.. I was @ the dentist today. FINALLY getting rid of the teeth... but no, they didn't take my teeth yet. just fixed it temporarily, again. So I asked them to pull all 4 of them in a few weeks.
I'm just gonna be numb, anasthesia is not necessary unless you're frightened, a lot. You won't feel a thing during the operation (Except hearing some nasty noises, so I've been told). anasthesia or not you still be hurt after the operation. Getting all 4 teeth removed and a few minor operations gonna cost me over $1k. Shit, gonna have to start spamming or ask Lensman for money for my posts :winkwink: |
