Now, just to clear some things up. We are not allowed to go out with any names as of yet. This is a very serious case. We did stop our mpa3 code on their server and that do mean that their signups suddenly stopped working and their income stopped. I don't feel bad about that since they did ad a script on their server that could alter with the ratios shown to webmasters. But still I do not want to put us in a situation where we can be sued for posting their name on the boards. I really hope for your understanding here.

And think about it, if this was you, wouldn't you have your lawyer team behind you before you did something like this?

My guess though is that some one will soon find out, because the program they used to send traffic to sudanly stoped working and count signups.

I'm not a lawyer or anything, but your actions (terminating license, not this thread), are going to have a ripple effect among webmasters. You're effectively killing off a program and hence stopping new joins from occuring, thereby ending a webmasters income from this specific sponsor. Although I do agree if a script is put in place that could manipulate earnings, something needs to be done but either way I would expect this sponsor to fire back at MPA. Best of luck dealing with all this guys.

I agree its a load of BS.

They offered a build in shaver in the previous version, I am not believing anything these guys are saying, same reason I hesitate to use any program using MPA. These guys are just as big crooks as the thiefs that shaves.

If its in the contract that any alteration of the code will get the license terminated there really isn't much the program can do.
If they come out firing at Mansion anyways and Mansion have proof of them shaving they would just hurt them selves even more.

The MPA2 shave feature was standard, I asked to have ours removed and Mansion was unable to fully remove it.

kristin 10-28-2005 04:27 PM

Personally I don't know anyone pushing those joins using MPA so I am VERY interested to see who it is. I'm not saying it's not possible, there are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many European companies that people disregard as top affiliate programs/paysites that make way more money than US ones.

So if so many joins are being pushed, we'd have to find out sooner or have some idea because now joins will just stop? Webmasters will bitch before Mansion says who it is. And I completely understand why Mansion hasn't said who it is.

DamageX 10-28-2005 04:27 PM

I still call bullshit.

Holly is hot because she is smart. That sexy curly long hair is also hot. Hair Like the Israeli girls and a body like a Latin dancer. A beautiful combination like that has a Mediterranean nature.

ricks 10-28-2005 05:39 PM

MPA3 is garbage... useless post from an equally useless poster...

KCat 10-28-2005 05:43 PM

Sounds like they're working hard to prtect their brand image. Whether it's shaving or insecure data, word always gets out so why risk the sponsor pointing fingers at their software? Nip it in the bud.

Kimmykim 10-28-2005 05:58 PM

Wow, can someone tell me who shot JR? Or JFK? You people are amazing... I would not, by any stretch of the imagination, figure that anyone at MPA, related to MPA or working with MPA, would EVER, for ANY reason, come out and make a post like this, without having the proof to back up their statement.

While I do think that perhaps it was a bit immature of them to come out and make an announcement before they are able to name any names, I can certainly see that the LAST thing they would ever want to do for publicity is bring up the word shaving.

Or anything like it.

My guess is that there's much more to this than meets the eye, I guess we'll find out who it is when webmasters start complaining about sending traffic to a program that isn't working.

Anybody using a large sponsor whose stats stopped working?

justsexxx 10-29-2005 03:52 AM

and still noone caught....hmmmm

NickJ 10-29-2005 05:30 AM

Look if you don't want to get shaved, ripped off cheated etc.. build your own site and be in control. It is not that difficult. You already have the traffic so all you need is content and hosting...

Today, you can get New Rel DVDs for under $99 bucks and if you buy at least 3 of them I can give you a free dedicated host server and free bandwidth.

No more shaving and you R in control. Check out the site in the sig below.

:thumbsup

I understand where you're coming from, but it's essentially the same thing as a company not paying their hosting bill and the host suspending the account. The program will be crippled by the actions of the program, not by the fault of the software provider. It will be the program's responsibility to address their affilliates and explain the situation. Chances are there won't be an explaination, the program with shut down, and try to pop back to life under a new name and marketing scheme. It would be interesting to see if a program that was caught screwing their partners could find a way to turn this issue around. :upsidedow

i just pray it isn't a sponsor I am using

webair 10-29-2005 09:17 AM

IMHO I think MPA did a standup thing here! Not only does their program seem to detect and report the integrity of the software and licensing agreement, but in essence it's protecting your money from potentially being stolen from you! Great work MPA!

With regards to legalities of them stopping the software from working, I'm sure that's covered within the terms of the licensing agreement itself.

i'm a fuckin prophet... watch :thumbsup

So this is what you are saying.

You have caught someone possibly cheating. You told us this. You dont want to to tell us who, but you did say that you canceled their account and thier program doesnt work now. But hundreds if not thousands of webmasters have to find out who by sending thier traffic and wasting thier time to find out who isnt tracking. Losing time/traffic/money.

Thanks a lot.

webair 10-29-2005 09:58 AM

I don't necessarily think they are obligated to tell us who it is, nor do I think it's ethical form a business point of view. They did what they had to do, and posted about it in case the offending client attempted to bash them on the boards to cover their asses.

Personally I think the program should step up and fess up! but that won't happen IMHO

andrej_NDC 10-29-2005 10:16 AM

pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease, even if its true, if it was a big company, you would so shit, so it has to be a non-important company and a good opportunity for you to spam your product after the MPA2 fuck ups. This wont make you look more honest, how poor.

Sorry to dissapoint you but if all it takes is paysite tour and "New Rel DVDs for under $99 (3 of them)" to have a even semi-average paysite you need to buy yourself a clue (and an expensive one)

Sorry to sound rude but some people reading this kind of posts may actualy think this is all its "needed" to get a good site going...and that couldn't be more far from beeing the true :2 cents:

They did what they had to do? In case someone did something?

Sounds like you are a shoot first, ask questions later kind of guy.
