The military screwed up when he was shot down, as has already been reported some time ago. Even though other pilots reported the location where he went down, the military did not send out a search and rescue. Their excuse for not doing this is inexcusable and Cheney jumped the gun in declaring him dead.
The Admiral in charge of the operation at the time has since admitted the screw up. |
