Plasma's burn out too fast (5-7 years). With DLP technology it is a halogen bulb which can be replaced when it burns out and you get the same quality as the day you bought it. So for me, while I cannot hang my large screen DLP on the wall, it gives me a great picture, still super small and it will last longer than the plasma.

I have the 43" Toshiba and I'm very happy with it.

The 62" is a Nice buy if you have a large room to put it in. If you sit closer than 10 feet to that TV its a bit blotchy, but I've found that with all LCDs, DLPs and Plasmas.

5 to 7 years for a plasma? I know of a few of the originals that are still going strong. I think their life may be much longer than 5 to 7 years.

Definitely... I sit as far away as I can in the room, otherwise you don't get the best clarity possible.

Plasma's have a life of about 10,000+ hours and then it burns out.

I hate to sound like a dick, but anyone that can afford a nice plasma probably don't care about it burning out in 5-7 years as they will probably have bought a new one by then.

Just my 2 cents anyways ;)
