My daughter was in the car today with the babysitter and they were rear-ended by a BMW. Fucked the babysitter's car all up. Luckily noone was seriously hurt (so far as we know right now...daughter is with my wife at the hospital getting checked out but she looks and acts just fine. They're checking to make sure there are no strange internal injuries or anything.)

Here's the fucked up part. The guy who hit them ran from the accident. Babysitter gives the cop the license plate number, they go to the guys house and he tells them that the car hasn't left the house all day, yet THE FRONT GRILL IS FUCKED ALL UP!! Cop comes back and tells the babysitter there is nothing they can do without a confession from the guy. lmao...I'm on the phone with my lawyer right now...

I got hit one time and got the guy's license plate after he took off. Also had an eyewitness back my story. I ended up getting the damages paid from the guy's insurance. If your babysitter had any eyewitnesses, get them to call your lawyer. It can mean a lot to getting the damages paid.

So with your thinking i could make up any plate # and that person is in trouble, even if a coincidnce occurs?

Just talked to my wife and so far everything looks ok at the hospital. Gave the babysitter my lawyer's number though since it's really her deal. He'll send out his own investigators and shit and if nothing else I guess they can probably bring a civil suit on this guy right? Even without an eyewitness?

bullshit. Hit & run is a crime. Leaving the scene of property damage is a crime. There were witness' the daughter & the babysitter. & it CAN be proving.. forensics can match the paint on the rear of the car with that of the vehicle that fled. They can also match up the impact!! Bet your ass if that were me, the cop would be on criminal malfeasance charges.

thats like saying if you get away when you run from a hit and run your scotch free.. lol stupid rookie cop.. get his ass fired from the police, and get your lawyer involved... think about this.. maybe the cop was sheltering the person because he knew him.. maybe theres a conspiracy.. ;)
