It depends if your refering to AdWords or Google itself. Google main results are indexed on Yahoo, AOL and Earthlink among dozens of other partners so you can expect several fold more than Overture reports. For their Adwords program, it depends on how you pick your keywords, with [], "" or (). These make a big difference depending on how you want your keywords wrapped.

signup for their program - select the keyword for your ad, and it'll tell you how many searches you're going to get.

i've tried to estimated in the past, but the ratio was not the same among different keywords. I would say from 3-6 times less from what overture displays.

There is no exact formula. Also, Overture numbers change every month because of them adding and removing partners.

It was like this 5-6 month ago, now from my experience ratio will be 10-15

I think we can calculate a ratio if we knoe the number of searches per month on both Google and Overture and if we assume that keyword search distribution ratio is about th same on both SE.

What do you think about that?

have in mind thought that such ratios are not stable. Overture has new partnerships and/or renews old ones with major portals and SEs. On the other hand now most of the yahoo results have now google listings too (in case you are reffering to free listings)

Adwords has a tool to see the # of searches, but you need to be an advertiser to access it. Overture has http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/
