You were in the US illegally, so when we all bought bikes together.. The R1 you paid for and and the other R something I bought for your brother, all bikes were put in my name.

The bikes... your and your brothers where signed over to you guys when your mom and I split. So far as I know, your brother still has in Canada, please explain how he got it into Canada if I had not signed the papers, so WTF are you talking about... the only thing I know about fucking up your bike is you riding it into a parked car.

I never gave to one with other giving to the other, I gave Jason (Rilose) 10K cash to do with as he wished...

His X and skanks,

Sometime in Sept, I split with his mom, for the second time in 3 months.

sometime the end of Sept begining of Oct I did sleep with a girl that worked on Lens's cam site.. and your point is?

As far as your X... she called me up to go to some october fest thing in downtown Sac... she said she was there with one of the other people that works for Lens at the time... so I joined them in Sac.

After about 2 hours the other guy left. So that left me and her... we went for dinner and talked all about how Jason could not not make up his mind between Her (or he was just leading her on) and his now current wife...
He was running back and forth between then... but thats kind of ok.. cause his now current wife was doing the same thing with her X, hence the Valtrex..
I actually posted pictures I took while we were out, on GFY..

Jason is the most self centered person I know..

Every time he fucked up at work and lost his job, his mom and I supported him.. his mom did not work, but money in, was ours not mine..

Your trashed on Lens's house... I paid for all the damage....

You lost your Job and could not get work on your own, I paid your rent and and all your bills for 6 months. Roseville CA is not a cheap place to live.

The majority of it long after his mom and I split, his mom kept telling me stop paying.

Then he got married... I had an immegration lawyer, and I had a balance with him, I instructed my lawyer to take the remaining balance and use if for Jasons case.. but money was running out and Jason got pissed when I could could not pay off the laywer for his case...

Then he got his job back... AGAIN. He makes good money.

I was still in contact with mother, she was back in Canada. She was stressing all the time cause she does not know how she was gonna make ends meet.
Never mind paying me back... this ungratefull little jerk, could not even see fit to help his mom out.. and his mom is a really good person and would give everything she has to help her sons, to bad this one is not the same way. His brother is exactly the opposite

Jason is by far the biggest ME ME ME person I have ever known.

but he is right about some things.. I did get used by some, everything I had is gone... you make choices in life and you have to live with them...

I helped a ton of people out when I did have money, if I got used, then so be it...

Will I ever get back.... I think so... I spent the last few years doing what I love to do, explore new ways of doing things...

Some here have seen some of it.

I just can't market worth a shit, but I may have that part sorted now.

Jason is 27-28?, and I am 38... for those of you that asked...

So Jason.. you can say anything you, it really does not bother, me..
Other than responding to your comments on GFY you are no more than a bad memory to me, and this is the last one I will respond to....

I offered to give you my address, the last time you threatened me on GFY, the offer still stands....

take care and move on with your life dude...

and the shit gets deeper....

Trust me, it harder to have had it and loose it, then to never have had it.

I've gone from being a janitor (years and years ago) trying to survive, to fly 1st class everywhere, then back to trying to survive...

If you get lucky, invest it... once you spend it, its gone...

Yeh man, I hear that. That's exactly what I'm trying to do at the moment.
I'm lucky to be able to afford a few toys, the rest will probably go into real estate. I wish I had the balls to invest back into the stock market, but I just cant bring myself to doing it after taking a big loss.

Keep your head up, you will regain what you once had someday soon. The skills we learn along the way are sometimes priceless. Your good nature, and your experience will work in your favor. Good luck to you, you're a good man. :thumbsup

But the question is, how did it happen that you are out of money? You just spent everything without earning any money?

Kind of... I was so busy playing in the life, when the income source stopped I was not prepaired for it. I had left nothing to fall back on...

It took 6 months to loose the last piece, and I was spending so much trying to keep all my bills paid, that it did not leave enough to get into something new.

Trust me, the bills don't go away, they just get much larger .. everything is relative.

Poor planning... is what it boils down to..

Poor?? actaully how about NO planning...

The only reason I keep responding, is so that if others get the chance, try to learn from my mistakes... Invest, Invest, Invest.. branch out...

Kind of like winning the lottery... if you spend all cash, then its gone..

I remember reading an article in Canada about lottery winners... generally the Canadian lotteries have small payouts, but are won frequently...

Most people that win 1-3M will file bankruptcy with in 5 five years. I remeber thinking.. ya right how stupid could they be... now I know why.

Why.. because the money came as lighting strike (same as me), you did not build it, building it provides you with the tools to manage it. Without those tools or a good financial advisor, that you will listen to (but who wants to be told what to do with your money), it will be gone in in a fairly short period of time.

Anyone seen the kids movie "Blank Check"... while its a funny movie and over dramatic, for adults it should have a deeper truer meaning...

Enought said on this topic...

My guess is: Cost of Living > Cash flow.
Wells run dry unknowingly sometimes.

the only "sad" part is the way I handled the money

Not sad as in depressed, sad is in "how f'ing stupid"..

For those of you that don't know....

My sudden money came from a deal with Lens and Internet Eraser...

While I wrote it, thats only 10% of the biz, the rest is marketing.

How did you piss it away? Did you just fuck up somehow or has Internet Eraser just stopped selling?

And why did you quit adult.com?

Good advice. It's something I wondering everyday too. Should I buy the fun, ride and everything or save it for later on.

sry... actually.. I'll tell ya some of it... the part that everyone thinks they know the whole story on...

there were billing issues with Interenet Eraser.. it was with Webside Billing when it went under...

First I moved it to my merchant account.. that got closed due to fraud..

Then I moved it to my Paycom account... but most of the damage was already done, ie Webmaster has sales dropped so some much, it was not being pushed as much and the market was now flooded with the same type of software.

I finially left for good (was still doing some stuff part time) in Feb- Mar..

Once I left, I stopped Paying Lens any money for it.

I left him holding the bag for any affiliate sales ect.. till June when Lens switched to his Paycom account..

Thats the popular story, so I don't mind making it public..

There was a lot more to what happened than that, but thats between me and Lens..

In so far as why did I leave Adult.com?

I wanted to go one direction, Lens wanted to go an other.
Affiliate scripts ect, get pretty boring after a while.

Life is short, this is not a trial run, you have to do what makes you happy.

FuqALot 10-23-2005 06:08 AM

edit: oops.........

ssp 10-23-2005 06:10 AM

You know Mike, I admire your honesty. Too bad most people immediately turn on leech mode and want to know what colour boxershorts you're wearing.

You're absolutely right about those people who win the lottery and later on are more broke than before they won it. The best thing you could possibly do when a large sum of money suddenly comes your way is invest it carefully. Make sure that the things you buy do not turn into liabilities when the money runs dry. Expensive cars and big boats are fun, but they need insurance, maintainance and gas to run. What will you do later on when you can't afford to play with the toys you own? It's very easy to fall for the millionaire lifestyle trap that gets handed to you when you have nice money.

As for me, I try to manage my money very carefully. Even though I make very nice money, I know exactly what I have and what I can spend. I treat myself to a toy every know and then but only do it when I'm sure I can afford it and can keep affording it in the future. The rest of my money goes into investments. Even though most people on this board are still in college or do this besides their steady income job, there are also people (like me) who solely depend on their businesses for their income. It is therefor absolutely necessary to be financially sensible. Even though it might sound like heaps of fun to live your life like a rockstar now, it might backfire in the future. This doesn't mean you shouldn't have fun and enjoy your life. Money is just a means to an end.

I think your experience was very positive and healthy in the sense that it made you realise what was important. You're not worried about money anymore and you shouldn't. The money part could come back as easily as it went away. Your attitude has changed for the better and already puts you ahead of most people, both now and in the future.

Good luck! :thumbsup

Mike,

Some people don't get a second chance, I know you will! As you remember, how much we did back in the day, and how stupid we were. Both Nick and I got another chance to do it again, and *make* more money than we did the first time around. This time around, there's no Vipers or Benz's, no 1000.00 dinners, no hard partying 6 days out of the week.

It's easy to make the money, it's harder to keep it.

Yes.. I remember, I remember talking to Nick, and thinking man he's gonna be dead soon.. it was pretty serious there for a while.. but he pulled through.

Ya, Vipers and (in my case) Hummers are out, next time around, well I miss the H2 kinda, I really liked driving that..

but thats the beauty of this biz...

Keeping working hard, and you should get another shot to correct the mistake you've made...

He wasn't degrading the program at all, he found a little mistake
called them up (as he has done a few times) and got hung-up on....if you read the whole story you would have seen, all those steps were taken.

If an ex employee called your programmer up to say he ran acrossed a problem, would you expect any of your employees to hang-up on him?

How would you have handled it?

It would have been different if he had been rude about it, or laughing ect...

He would have done it for anybody...I guess people who might find a mistake in one of your programs, should just ignore it?

I don't own Weg.

But I do hire sale's staff.

That said, what is the point of putting it on GFY? Why does the entire community need to know he was hung up on?

He isn't the only one that has had a bad experience with a program's service, difference is most of us do not need to start a thread about it.

Me? Email Lens, let him worry about it. I am sure Lens has a handle on his business though.

but there was almost nothing I would not do for my friends, and still do, although the cash part is gone.

I gave money to people when they needed it...
I bought things from people in the industry, not cause I need it, but cause they needed cash... Is that a bad thing... ?

Red Cross, no... my friends and people I know, yes...

Thats my personality, I like to help when I can...

I also believe that one should never lend money, If you can afford to, give it. If you get back, all the better, if not, you gave it so there should be no hard feelings.

I live from month to month now like most of you... but if you look back a couple weeks ago.. a guy was selling domains here cause he need cash fast... I agreed to by one for $50, after we made the deal, someone else offered more.. I told him to take the deal... and keep my payment.. I did not need the domain.. so let him get some extra cash... am I stupid, you may thinks so, but help others makes me happy when I can.

For better or worse thats just me...

Lens and I have not always seen eye to eye from day one of working with him. I had some major anxiety issues (Panic Attacks) when I first started
working with Lens, I almost did not take the job, But Lens let me work through them by letting me take a "break" when I needed it. It took years
to get over, and he was extremly understanding. For that I can never repay him.

I left lens to do stuff on my own, I have found that while I may be a decent programmer, I suck at marketing... so be it.. I made the choice, I live with it.

Since I left... we have stayed in contact, periodically, and I have let him know when I see something that is wrong, but I normally go straight to him.

With all his new stuff, I figured he was pretty busy, so I did not even ask for him or dial his extention.. I tried to explain what was wrong to Loryn, to be passed on. I did not ask to speak to Jeff, she told me I should talk to him...

is this a regular responce from Adult.com, no way... in the years since I left this is the first time its happened.

but, if I happed to see a problem on your site, I would let you know, if I know who you are..

after everything in this thread i realized, this is really about you trying to get Lens to hire you back, isn't it. you are trying to get your financial situation out there and hope Lens, or someone else big, offers you a job. nothing wrong with that, just stating I think thats what this is all about.

ronaldo 10-24-2005 01:27 PM

It sounds to me like this Mike chap was simply trying to let someone know that they were having a problem.

I do it daily with people I know and people I don't know and am never looking for anything in return. Two minutes of my time to let someone know they're potentially losing money is well worth it imo. If I'm looking for ANYTHING, perhaps I'm hoping they'll reciprocate if they find something wrong with something of mine.

ronaldo 10-24-2005 01:35 PM

No way.. I would never go back to adult.com, nor would Lens have me back.. thats a done deal...

In so far as wanting an other job.. do you really think I have not had offers?

I am not in the least bit interested in going back to affiliate scripts ect.. way to boring..

As some people here know, the stuff I have been working on is way to cool to just leave behind.

I was just giveng people a peek into what can happen.
