Best is to find in processes and kill the program, when you click back in it should be all set.

that has happened to me a few times. it happens sometimes when i open a video on a webpage and it crashes the browser. then you restart it and it asks you to choose a profile right?

anyway, your bookmarks are not lost. you can find them. i figured it out by going to firefox webpage and looking up the info about profiles and where profiles are stored and your bookmarks are still there.

your bookmarks are probably still there. i think i just found the file, converted it to HTML and imported them back to firefox with the import function. but if i recall, it was not obvious where the file was, i had to go to mozilla and look it up there.

I can go into my drive and navigate to were mozill is under my username and see everything, but I dont understand why when I start ff it goes to an empty default install. How do you change profiles?

i haven't seen that error. when it prompts me to choose a profile, i was a little baffled because i began looking at how to create a profile or additional profiles and its not very clear either. also, when it happens, i can reboot my computer and it loads normally.

i wish you luck. i am sure you bookmarks are not lost. thats the most important thing. is for me anyway... i have tons of them.

same here on windows...major memory leaks....there is a fix, and its "working" (went from 200+mb to like 80... but its still too much if you ask me...)

In linux, no such things...I'm in linux 90% of the time now so no biggy FF takes like 30mb max
