Is there an end to American Racism???

My guess... is NO. Read below.

Americans have such a massive guilt trip about past racial injustice (particularly slavery and Jim Crow) that race "leaders" always cry racism cuz it gets them freebies (preferences, affirmative action) or a pass (accountability). White majority just shakes its head and complies.

Given the way its going, there will be NO END to racism (as currently formulated) because racism conveys advantages to the socalled victims--from preferences to quotas to increased visibility, there's too much $$$ and power at stake with playing the race card for people to voluntarily give up that card.

So whitey will just have to take it up the ass with no lube until there's a backlash and people will just say.. "Cry racism all you want but I'm going to expect the same results from you as anyone else. If you end up in the bottom of the barrel its because of your choice."

There's a myth in America called victimization. Everyone loves to play the victim. The big myth is that it absolves you of responsibility for your choices since there's always someone else to blame. This is a myth because victims are often victimizers themselves--whoever said blacks or other minorities can't be racists is an idiot. Ignorance is just as repugnant regardless of whoever practices it. Just because you were victimized in the past doesn't give you license to give up and blame the world... you have to get up. It's the latter reality that current racial discourse NEVER addresses.

There IS a time to move on... right?

What did you think about the beating of Robert Davis by four white NOLA cops?

So if they were four black cops its okay? Oh wait, they'd be Uncle Toms so it's still a nefarious legacy of The Man.

Actually, playing the race card and race hustling does involve intelligence. Adam Clayton Powell, Jesse Jackson (on the more comedic end), Cornel West, Johnnie Cochran, etc etc. I just wish that intelligence would have been applied elsewhere to move on and move up.

Are you playing dumb? Or are you really dumb?

Beating of innocent civilians by police officers is never OK.

For some reason it seems that most of the beatings are done by white cops. And most of the victims are not white.

            Go figure.

I see. So you're back to playing the old racist baiting game... attack the person not his argument. Am I dumb just for not agreeing with you? Am I dumb for pointing out the fact that if a black man is beaten by whites its AUTOMATICALLY a racial incident? What if it was done by blacks? Is it really dumb to QUESTION the racial stratification and labeling of any police action based on skin color?

Even if the incident you mentioned was unwarranted does it automatically mean that most white cop-black civilian interactions are racially motivated?

You are playing the same race blame game and appeals to emotions that really prevent any REAL answers from being arrived at.

The recent bullshit with Joan Rivers when some guy tried to paint her a racist gives me hope. When someone tries to bully you into his position by playing the race card... call his ass out on it. Another ray of hope was during a season of MTV Real World one of the black cast members was accusing a white girl of being racially insensitive she called him out on it saying "I am sorry I didn't live your life... Just because you had certain experiences doesnt give you the right to judge the rest of society that way" Good for her and Joan... call that shit out.

I was responding specifically to this part of your argument: "So if they were four black cops its okay?"

I thought that was a really dumb statement meant to try and deflect the argument into something else.

As long as there are things like "Black Movie Awards", racism will always exist... You can't have your cake and eat it too.

But that's just to celebrate community and strengthen community bonds, man! However, if you ever start White Movie Awards night, you are RACIST!
