It's always updating, people need to understand this. They only export this data every 3 months or so, making it public for whatever reasons. But it's tons of fun and mighty profitable when they do!

Yep - Matt Cutts announced it over on his blog yesterday and said they will be jacking around the PR and linkbacks to show what it was a while back - also will be applying some filters over the next few days so SERPs might move a little - although most of them are moving every day now anyway

The highest was a 8 a few years ago - now a 7 is about the best you can get - but - remember PR doesnt determine where you are in the results - and the PR on the toolbar that these people are talking about is what it was 3 months ago - not what your site really is today - its just a pretty little green bar nowadays since google figured out people were buying/selling links based on it so kinda useless other than some sort of personal satisfaction I guess.

Most important is where you are in the results - thats what gets traffic - not PR

So why is everyone here concerned about their PR Rank if it means nothing more than a pretty picture on their tool bar? I really don't understand why a site that is Ranked 0 can get more visits on searched keywords than a site that has a higher Page Ranking. Can someone explain that one to me?

its also much easier to sell a pr7 domain then the pr0 domain

its also much easier to exchange links and it just looks nicer overall
