:mad Seahawks Safety Ken Hamlin Seriously Injured

I'm a huge Seahawks fan, and this takes a huge hit to our Defense, mentally and physically...

These guys will be on a man hunt here in Seattle to find him.

Seahawks free safey hospitalized

SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER REPORTER

Seattle Seahawks safety Ken Hamlin is in the intensive care unit at Harborview in serious, but stable, condition after an altercation outside a Seattle nightclub, according to a statement from the team.

"Safety Ken Hamlin was the victim of an assault outside a downtown nightclub," president Tim Ruskell said in the statement.

Ruskell has spoken with Hamlin.

"His spirits are good considering the situation," Ruskell said in the statement.

The Seattle Police Department has an ongoing assault investigation, which Ruskell said precludes further comment from the team at this time.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with Ken and his family," Ruskell said.

The Doctor said he took a blow to the head, head trauma, skull fracture, possible brain/tissue damage... But he is alert, knows who he's talking to.

Uh...hate to break this to you bro but the Seahawks weren't going anywhere with or without Hamlin, yesterday's performance notwithstanding.

Hope he makes a full recovery though, hate hearing about stuff like this.

I don't know, i've been listening to the news conference since it started and neither the Doctor or Holmgren have said anything...

Only things I know is that it happened outside a night club last night.

Good fucking question...

First, I couldn't myself having the energy to go kick it after a full game... cus he is playing double time with Dyson out...

And then, not only that, but I know Holmgren rips into them about going out, thats why he apologized to him over the phone this morning.

The NFC is horrible...You'd have a hard time convincing me that the rams, eagles, cowboys, redskins are decisively better

Seattle's Hamlin in intensive care after fight Click here to find out more!
NFL.com wire reports

KIRKLAND, Wash. (Oct. 17, 2005) -- Ken Hamlin of the Seattle Seahawks was in serious but stable condition at a Seattle hospital with a blunt trauma injury after a fight outside a nightclub.

Team physician Stan Herring said that Hamlin, a safety, was in the intensive care unit with a fractured skull, a small blood clot and bruising of the brain tissue.

"Right now, he is awake intermittently and talking to us," Herring said. "We're going to need more time to see if there is residual problems from bruising of the brain."

A police report said Hamlin, who was with his girlfriend at the time, was in a fight as he left the club several hours after the Seahawks defeated the Houston Texans the night of Oct. 16.

True that, I don't like to give Seahawks too much credit as I see what happens whenever they get rolling...

BUT... if they keep this going, maintain the rest of the players, get Engram and Jackson back and keep clicking, their gonna be hard to stop.

KIRKLAND ? Seahawks free safety Ken Hamlin is in the trauma unit of Harborview Medical Center today, the victim of an assault outside a downtown Seattle nightclub early this morning.

Dr. Stan Herring, one of the team's physicians, said Hamlin has a small blood clot on the left side of his brain and bruising of the brain tissue. He also has a skull fracture that appears to be caused by being struck in the head with a blunt object.

Hamlin also has a broken right hand. He's in serious condition but stable and has to be awakened periodically, though he is aware where he is and knows family is coming to see him.

An incident report from the Seattle Police Department said police responded at 2:04 a.m. today to a disturbance at the intersection of 1st Avenue South and South Main Street. According to the report, Hamlin was discovered on the ground and told police his head, neck and chest areas were in severe pain. The Seattle Fire Department was called to the scene and treated Hamlin, who was taken to Harborview.

Hamlin told police he didn't remember what had happened.

A witness at the scene, described as Hamlin's girlfriend, said she and Hamlin were leaving the club and were on the sidewalk when Hamlin placed his hand on a man in front of him and said, "Excuse me." The witness said Hamlin and the man began pushing each other after the man said something to Hamlin. After Hamlin punched the man in the face, another man approached Hamlin and hit him with his right forearm, knocking him to the ground.

The two men who had been involved with Hamlin then began fighting with others while Hamlin was on the ground. Other witnesses told police that one of the two men then picked up a street sign and hit Hamlin while he was on the ground. Police searched unsuccessfully for the two men at the scene.

Hamlin's agent, J. Lawrence Temple, said he is flying from Austin, Texas to Seattle to check on Hamlin, but said, "the [medical] reports I'm getting are that things are pretty good."

Hamlin, 24, made five tackles in the Seahawks' 42-10 victory over Houston last night at Qwest Field.

"His spirits are good considering the situation," Seahawks president Tim Ruskell said in a statement released by the team. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Ken and his family."

Hamlin was able to phone coach Mike Holmgren and said he was sorry, Holmgren said. Marquand Manuel will start in Hamlin's place against the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday at Qwest Field.

It was unclear whether any other Seahawks were at the nightclub when the assault took place.

Sorry to hear about this happening. I wonder what the hell was going through the mind of the guy who decided to take him on.

Komo TV has a link to the video, but you can't see much.
http://komotv.com/stories/39783.htm

Larry's Night Club is probably THE most ghetto club in Seattle..

Now the brother of a guy killed that same night is saying he was the one that knocked him down...
http://komotv.com/stories/39787.htm

and now he's dead...

plot thickens...

Hamlin is more than likely done for the Season, he can't risk anything right now.
