Best D&D/War Game?

I have Fallout, Fallout2, Baldur's Gate, BGII, Icewind Dale and PlaneScape Torment - all by the same company and all good fun - If I had to make a choice it would be down to Fallout and Torment...

baldurs gate is cool, rpg is my favs, might & magic series is also good. heroes of might and magic is also pretty good, im looking forward to heroes of might & magic 4

Any of the fallout games, but especially fallout tactics...that game is the shit. BG 1 is way better the BG 2...too much dialog and useless shit in BG 2.

best war game will always be Operation Flashpoint the us marines use the engine of operation flashpoint aswell for trainning their people, the game isnt like ghost recon where you have to shoot on lifeless ai tagets, in Operation flashpoint every enemy has an brain that can do different things so a mission will never be the same

and you can control all kinds of tank planes or whatever reality war games are so coooll

I still dig Warhammer. It's an RPG. I play that when I want to do some hack and slash gaming but don't feel like playing AD&D.

If you are into the real time type strategy situations. Starcraft and its expansions kick ass. Not for everyone though.

For DnD games, just wait for Neverwinter Nights.

Wheel of Time is also one of my all-time favorite games, but it's not new, it's NOT a d20 type game... it's not even a roleplaying game at all. It's just a variation on a shooter game. The ONLY difference between WoT and other shooters is that you shoot people with spells instead of guns. It's fun, though, you should still check it out.

Oh, I see what you mean.... and I see what you were talking about when you said d20. A friend of mine has been following this d20 stuff, and I think he even has this game.

I thought you meant the computer game, which was originally planned to be an RPG/adventure game, but ended up turning into a shooter.

And yes, both are based on the Robert Jordan series.

for RPGs I recommend you Blade of Darkness
it's not so well known but I guarantee you it's one of the best RPGs Ive ever seen ... it was produced by a small Spanish company named RebelAct and distributed by CodeMasters.

I don't really understand by war games I guess most of the strategy games include some sort of war ...

an excellent turn based strategy (combined with D&D) is Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and probably the sequel to it Heroes of Might and Magic 4 due out this month's end.
