Bluegravity or XXXhosting ?

Anyone here use them? I'm thinking of moving some stuff there, but I don't know of any other paysite owners that use them. Would appreciate any comments if you do.

Thanks.

Same here, we love www.webair.com

Do NOT host with xxxwebhosting, without a doubt the worst people I've ever dealt with in 9 years of business.

Who hosts bangbros.com, casio.com, limewire.com, FTVGirls.com and other massive companies? Oh thats right it's www.isprime.com 90% of the hosts here are smalltime kiddies. Do a search for any host that the clowns here at GFY recommend.

VD (lol!), your list is quite askewed... back to school for you...

anyhow, unlike you, who pimps his sig for free hosting, my time = $ so i'll leave it up to people lookin for new hosts to decide for themselves.. once they search GFY they will see... and they will sure also notice that fris and VD are part of the very few who push webhosts other than webair =)

If you want to chose betwen the two then consider that
xxxhosting its hosted by bluegravity
so go directly to them instead through a reseller.

ISPrime might well be a great hosting company; never worked with them. But, a quick comparison might be in order. A dedicated box with a 2.4 Ghz processor, a 120 gig or so hard drive, and 5 mbs bandwidth through ISPrime costs $674 a month, according to their site. Same basic specs for a box from Webair is $179 a month. What is it about ISPrime's hosting thats worth an extra $500 for the same basic product - just asking.

the great support from isprime is worth the $500 and the lack of support I received from webair as a small customer. Webair can suck my balls, because when I had a small account they treated my like shit and now I happily host 8 servers with isprime.

You know just like we do, that that price is not correct. When you contact them, by phone, email or icq, you will get a better deal. Those prices give you an idea of what the price will be..

Example

Managed Dedicated 30 Mbps
Included- Bandwidth: 30Mbps Server: Dell 1850 | CPU: Dual 2.8Ghz Xeon w/1MB Cache| Ram: 1 GIG | Hard Drive: 73 GIG SCSI | |Managed Service: Level 1|

1050USD for 30 MBPS, is a good deal. Especially when you look at the peering isprime has, and the awesome support they offer.

They very well might do that; a lot of hosts do. And maybe for large bandwidth customers, ISPrime is a better deal. But what people look for in a hosting company varies; thats why its hard to say who the "best" is. It does seem that, for the smaller webmasters, there is a significant difference in price; whether the quality offered makes up for that is an individual decision.

From a personal perspective, Webair has been an absolute joy to deal with in comparison to our previous hosting company. Others might have had different experiences. But they have been great to us.

Dude, I'm not going to bash on webair, but you are a complete idiot. I highly doubt that most people on this board host with them, LMAO...maybe a bunch of small virtuals and a some dedicateds, but I don't think any of the big sites host with them, and even if a few do, your statement is still rediculas.

my two cents

To add my two cents here:

I currently have accounts with both hosts, BlueGravity and Webair.
I have nothing but good things to say about both.

Mike from Webair set me up great. Fantastic pricing, support and servers.
I've hosted with BlueGravity since '97. Their prices are pretty high but I just can't seem to switch away from them for my most critical stuff. Their setup is fantastic. Don't know if its the hardware or bandwith, but load times on their boxes seem to be incredibly fast. Maybe this is because I live ten minutes from their datacenter, but I don't care. You can't go wrong with either of them. =)

Yeah, I have 30Mbps machine with Bluegravity (xxxhosting), and they have great uptime and super speed - it is pretty premium bandwidth. Their pricing is normally higher than other places, but you can call them and they might be able to work something out. They do seem a little busy at times, as it is a smaller shop, but damn fast and reliable hosting. Webair has 24/7 tech, great pricing, and at times wicked fast turnaround for tech requests, but then again, my server at Webair was down when I checked it at 9am this morning, I emailed tech, and they got it back up at 2pm!! That blows. They have a great reputation, but that downtime is unbelievably bad. I look forward to the explanation for that one.

That's a pretty long downtime you had at webair, have they told you why?
fris also stated (in above post in this thread) he had like a 3 hour downtime with webair ?....hummmm makes you wonder

I'm sure if I had called them, they would have had it back up asap, but I just emailed tech, which was stupid on my part. But it is bad that they didn't catch it themselves. I have no idea how long it was down, 5 hours minimum, and probably way longer had I not noticed it. What happened is they had to do some maintenance which required a power down for some machines, and I guess in the power up mine did not come back, and in addition, my 2nd hard drive was configured wrong so when the main server came back, it wasn't accessible, which I didn't notice for a few more hours (I was away). I'll chat with them today to find out why their systems didn't catch it.
