Adult-ish dating site - how to generate traffic/members?

Hello everybody...new member here..be gentle

I am creating a online dating site targeting the college/university audience, age range 18 to 25. This will be "Adult-ish" but not full blown I-want-to-fuck like some of the other sites, at least not at face value.

I am looking for recommendations on how to generate traffic and new members....at this point banner advertising is out of budget....

Yes I know you will say "not another dating site" but I have an enterprenual spirit and am NOT looking to put EHarmony or Match dot com out of business. I enjoy web/internet programming and wanted to explore this area.

If I fail I am out maybe 2 grand for software, hosting, domain name, and I move on to something else. This is America, land of the Whopper, Big Mac, Whataburger, and Wendy's (all who are doing well....)

If you're new to the adult business, there is a lot to learn. I suggest you try AdultFriendFinder's affiliate program (see signature) and see if you manage to get people to signup at that site. It will be a great "exercise" for you. And you can earn quite some money (as AFF converts/pays out good), which you can use to invest in your own dating site.
