link building tips

I'm looking for tips, not giving them since I have none to give!

I guess "link building" seems an easy enough task on the face of it but I am coming to realize that there is more to it than meets the eye.

Sure, I could search manually and come up with a handful of sites that I could link to but the time taken to links found ratio seems pretty ridiculous!

What do you guys use in order to make your link building campaigns succeed? I know there is software out there that analysis the best links based on numerous criteria and also does an analysis of competitors? sites and comes up with link building strategies. I'm curious as to which software you use (precluding custom written stuff) and how effective they are.

Any other suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers ...

try and get link trades with sites in the same "niche" and that rank high with the searchterms you are going after.

Hi Nicky,

In doing my searches, I found either one of two results.

1) Linklists occupy the top spots for most popular adult keywords
2) The site(s) occupying the top spots for keywords seem to have pages that are not neccesarily those that I got results for in the search engine (cloaked pages perhaps).

I both these cases, it seems like I have lost considerable linking opportunities. The linklists won't link in the conventional exchange of links method whereby both site owners placs links in prominent locations and in the case of cloaked pages ... well, not much to be said there.

Please understand that I am not looking to shirk the task of manual link building but am obviously very interested in finding ways that will allow the process to be semi automated and become a consistent part of my daily schedule.

Cheers ...

yea for some terms that is the case, not all though, but I understand that you would like something automated or semi-automated, who wouldnt?
