Domain names selling at all time highs...

domain name values just keep going higher and higher....crazy how these domains cost alot more than real property nowadays, and it will just get worse....try looking for a simple .com domain...doesn't even have to be popular terms.....you won't find any..

better snatch them up as soon as you can!!

digipawn.com is also an interesting company...maybe someday banks will value domains and you can borrow from the value of your domains....interesting things to come.

Hey, buying domains is a serious issue! I sometimes cave in and go on the domain buying sprees every other month. It's an addiction that needs treating!

'Oh, I will defo do something with that' and 'That's a great domain for idea X' - then you just keep on paying the renewal fees... ive a few thousand of them now

You bet ... I just repriced a bunch of domains ... getting a lot of offers lately - and here's the part that's very telling of what's coming...

Many of the offers I'm receiving are from real estate investors - as they cashout real estate, they have lots of cash ... and many of such investors are now discovering domain name investing ... great returns, especially since there are no real estate taxes, etc in the domain name realm - at least not yet ... this is the time to buy!

Best domain I have for sale right now is CANNABIS.COM ... grosses around $100K per year ... currently *netting* around $5K per month on $8K monthly gross; biggest expense other than my time is webhosting.

I've received numerous offers well over $100K with the highest bonafide offer at $500K ... I'm surprised no one has stepped up yet - willing to let it go for less than a million ... this is the time to buy before prices go up - and they will go up ... last year, the top offer I had for CANNABIS.COM was less than $100K ... fastforward 1 year, and now the top offer is 5 TIMES that!

CANNABIS.COM ... includes some common typo versions plus CANN.COM (a very nice 4-letter in itself!) and much of the content too.

$975,000 USD takes it ... for a limited time for a serious buyer ready to deal right now.

Check out DNJournal's weekly sales list.

              http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm

Amazing ... and that's only the fraction of what's really happening...

For every sale reported, there are likely easily 10 TIMES more that are not reported, some as high, if not higher than the highest reported there.

And this comes from experience ... only one of my domain name sales (a smaller one) has ever been reported in DNJournal's weekly sales lists - while the rest, even 6-figures sales (some of which were somewhat public on DNForum's message boards), were never reported by DNJournal.

In short, the domain name market is growing at a clip that rivals physical real estate; as a bonus, there are no real estate transfer tax nonsense, etc in the domain name realm - not yet anyways.

And finally, if bird flu hits this winter (or more likely the perception by the public it has due to media panic), many folks will choose / be forced to stay inside ... what are they going to do? ... yep, on-line entertainment! This winter could be the best time ever to really build brand and traffic - a stable of quality domains can greatly help in making that happen.

domains will continue to rise imo, the internet is a force that cannot be stopped, i remember years ago there was the select few with a 56k modem, now everyone and their grandma has access, and with high speed basically becoming the average home line, it will only expand.

this year i started to get into it alot more, because looking back at some of the names i could have gotten ahold of even single word .net and .org that were availble for years makes my head shake, i dont want to look back in another 5 years and think the same thing.

I agree, it's gonna rock over the next few yrs. A few mths ago, I sold one of my gambling domains for 2,000. I had the name for 5yrs and it was never used... I was the first person to own it. I should have kept it till I got asking or close to asking price

I would suck in this business. I simply wouldnt be able to think of useless retarded names to register and then sell for 10k.

Domain sales have been reaching new highs lately. We bought hundreds in the old day, 1995 and beyond, get offers all the time - mostly never sell any, mabey 1 or 2 a year.

Since gas prices have gone up so high lately - we have been getting multiple offers for oilforsale.com - surprised the heck outta me.
