Punker - as I've already stated numerous times in this thread...it was more than just the form. I spent hours designing the form, the copy that went with the form and the layout of the form so that it was pleasing to the eye and so that it worked properly. I'm not a designer so this was no easy task for me. When I see that my whole creation copied and reproduced on someone elses site...yes, that tends to piss me off a bit. And then when I question them about it and they tell me that its' ok that they stole it because it's just a form - that pisses me off even more.

How many times a week do you see someone here that runs a program complaining about stolen content? I see all the time. I would consider the layout/design of the form that I created as well as the copy that went along with it "my content". And I found it reproduced on your website without my knowledge or approval. I don't have anything to be a little pissed about? Come on already..........

It's about principle.

It's a form, it would take me 5-10 minutes to pop something similar out of my ass. Spunky, if you want, I will create a form for you for $2 to avoid further drama, but then you can keep that $2 for the shipping you paid to send me the thong i'm currently wearing.

Now, if my form looks similar, it's only because this is what Spunky asked for in his detailed description of what he wants. Rest assured, I will have spent 5-10 minutes popping it out of my ass, without even looking at this other guys code or form page.

This is so petty and ridiculous it's not even funny. In fact, if Spunky never admitted that it was possible that his designer copied it, there is absolutely no proof of the accusations. Forms all look very similar, they all have text fields, browse fields for photo uploads, a bit of text here and there, and generally laid out in a vertical manner, sometimes even with 2 or more columns though. They also tend to have a submit, and sometimes even clear button. Oh, and some people add a copyright to the bottom of every page they own, not meaning to necessarily "copyright" a form, because that would be ridiculous to think that someone would actually claim one. I guess it's possible though. :uhoh

Agreed, however, he was unaware of it initially. His designer, who should no longer be used, lifted this "form." Then, what do you do? Make a new one that looks and acts the same, just so you can say you spent your own 10 minutes doing it even though it's going to do the exact same thing? Then who will even believe that you did it from scratch? You can get these kind of forms at php libraries and such, for free. Places like http://www.phpfreaks.com/. I mean, come on, this is not like using a set of Kate's photos to make money, as another guy mentioned. This is a SUBMIT FORM. Seriously.

As I said previously....I am no designer. It takes me hours to put something together that may take a designer only a few minutes to do. So I spend a lot of time building shit and it pisses me off when I see someone using my shit like Spunky did. But what pissed me off even more is that Spunky thinks it's ok to steal and use my work because it's "only a form". I expect a comment like that from a newbie in the industry or someone who doesn't have a clue but a comment like that from a respected industry professional? :disgust

It concerns me that whoever this mysterious designer is that Spunky hired to do this job...might be doing jobs for a lot of you folks. And you should be concerned that he might be stealing shit from other websites to build your projects. Some of you can't see far enough in front of you to realize this.

Some of you folks have never created anything in your life....how are you to understand how I feel? You have no idea what it's like to create something only to find someone has stolen and used your creation without your knowledge or approval. It doesn't matter if it's a form or a true work of art. There are quite a few people who posted in this thread that do actually understand my point of view. These are people who have created things that have been ripped off (and continue to be ripped off) by others in our industry. This is OK??? Is there a difference between ripping off some pictures and ripping off the design and layout of a submit form and the "unique" text that accompany that form? Stealing is stealing and a thief is a thief. It doesn't matter if it's a little html or a picture.

That's how I feel about this thing and that's about all I have to say about it :thumbsup
