Mac mini's
is a basic mac mini good enough to do the basics of video editing

The mac mini is an ok machine but I would not recommend for anytihg more than I movie editing unless you load it with Ram.

I agree. Max the RAM and use an external hard drive for the footage. THe Mac Mini drive is only running at 5400 RPM, need at least 7200 RPM.

It is too weak to do heavy processing. You'll be able to use iMovie without any problems but you'll have to be patient when you'll import movies as it will take a lot of time

For iMovie it is OK. You can create pretty nice movies.
