wow who would have thought i would have gotten this much useful info about a particular dog breed from GFY haha awesome

i'll rethink the purchase, i like beagles and retrievers too... not sure what i'm gonna do at this point, we're just up in the air right now. nothing is set in stone :)

thanks for the info

CHOWS are incredibly aggressive
but they are definitely cute looking

Listen to what people are saying here. They're overly protective and aggresive. If you like having company then this may not be the dog for you. I've known 4 or 5 people to have them and 2 of those people had serious issues with the dogs.

They tend to be more aggressive than the typical cute dog.

looks like a place that supports puppy mills to me, that is if they aren't one them selves. I wouldn't buy from them

The best way how to decide is to get an ecyclopedia of dog breeds and pick one that meets your needs like how much excercise he needs, how he copes with kids or other pets, how much training he needs if he has a strong hunting insting etc.
The worst thing is to pick the wrong one. Our neighbours bought a Husky to their kids. People that rather like stay home and relax for ex. pick a dog that needs a great deal of excercise - daily and needs a company more thatn other breeds! They keep him alone in the yard. He howls all day and night long and when he manages to get out he gets unmanageable. Disaster for both - the owner and the dog.
