What features would you like in a CMS? (Business Thread)

My company has just finished some major projects and we are looking for a new project for ourselves as well as mainstream and adult internet companies. We have played around with a few different CMS programs and have not been all that impressed with what they offer.
Most of my business is mainstream and I have issued this same question to my current clients.
My intention is not to bash any of the systems that exist but to find out what features and functionality people want.
Since the majority of my business is in mainstream I wanted to know from the adult community what features were needed/wanted so that we can build a system that will work for a broader group businesses.

Please be specific as possible as a response like "Reporting" is very vague.
A more specific response would be "Cross-Site Revenue Reporting Based on Source and Time of Day".

Any input you can offer will be appreciated.

I understand that 10:31pm EST on a Saturday may be the wrong time to post a business thread but if I do not get the response I am looking for now I can always bump this thread.

an optional content rollout setup that would allow a member to be started at day1 after launch. So that content was rolled out on a retroactive timeline directly related to # of days user has been a member.

The basics of a CMS would be similar to PHPNuke/DotNetNuke or any of the others. (Yes we host on MS as well.) It would have Host access setting and Admin access setting, newsletter, user login, blogging, forums, ad rotator, HTML/Text editor built in. File management via the site, scheduled tasks, date/time specific listed links/items, IFrames, User Defined Data Tables, Shopping Cart, Announcements, Personal Address/Email, Guestbook, User Downloads, PDF Creatation, Events, FAQ, RSS News Feeds, Site Search, Web Search, Users Online, User Management, Ad Management for CJ, Linkshare and others.

These items below would not probably portable as they would be set up to work with our hosting.
Email Server Settings, DNS Settings, Virtual Site Settings, Email Access, List Server, Domain/Page Parking settings with ads.

What I am looking more for is the things like you suggested with the Thumbnail gallery creation. Built in Toplist is another good suggestion. These are things that Adult would need that my mainstream customers would not.

Let me see if I understand this completely.

Senario 1:
Site has 365 Days of scheduled content rolled out daily.
Member signs up for 30 days.
Member can only see the first 30 days of scheduled content?
If they rebill for 30 days they can see the original 30 days of content as well as the next 30 days of scheduled content? And this continues as long as they keep rebilling?
If they should skip a month would they then be started over? Or would they now start with the current day of scheduled content and go forward but not be able to see the previous content?

Senario 2:
Site has X amount of content.
Member signs up for 30 days and is allowed "for lack of better term" 30 credits.
These credits allow access to Y amount of X content.
If member rebills for another 30 days they get 30 more "credit for a total of 60 and this "unlocks" more content.
Again as above what will happen if the skip a month or so.

Senario 3:
Site launches on Jan1 and has 12 months of scheduled site updates.
Member signs up on Mar1 they get to see ALL of the past content up to the current month. If they rebill they can see the next month and so on.

Please let me know if I am close on any of the above senarios and please comment on what I may have missed.

SEO friendly will be built a built in option. We are considering on rather than making it an option to write something that will recognize each individual "spider" and adjust the site based on each. Some will take the query string and some will not and we already account for that on some of our sites with custom code.

Since the entire site will consist of 1 page and all elements of the site are derived from the database we have a lot of control over how the sites pages and links are displayed to the surfers as well as the "spiders".

I am assuming that you are asking about embedded media.
The most common video types like flash, avi, wmp and ra will have support.
Graphic options will be gif, jpg, png.
Document formats will be pdf, doc, xls, html, crystal reports, active reports.
Audio formats are in discussion as I am not a big fan of web sites with sounds unless it is in the video.

If there is something else please explain in a little more detail as to what you are suggesting.

Yes Scenario1 as an OPTION. It would be for marketing purposes, so paysite owner could select a group of members that fit thier predefiined user archtypes sample set and see how they reacted to each wave of content. For instance, say 80% cancelled on Day240 then owner can go in a look at what went wrong via content delivery. The only way to reset the content schedule for a 1 month skip rebiller would be to set them on the normal rollout schedule. Since they skipped a month they cancelled most likely due to financial reasons and not disatisfaction with the site so they should be out of the survey anyways.
