In your business, because you're selling an actual product, i recommend you obtain a merchant account. This way, you get a per transaction charge like .50 or $1.00, where with a processor it'll be something like $10 or more per sale.

I've been thinking of getting my own, but we are so damn busy, I would prefer to pay out 9 percent or so and use them and their shopping cart. We did over 500,000 last year in adult DVD sales and my current processor is having some problems I think.Comment

it only takes a few days to get an adult DVD product merchant account that goes with a shopping cart gateway.
Rates are 3% for US companies (usually no reserves in the US either), about 6% for offshore
No reason whatsoever to dole out 9% or more when you can do it for so much less.
