Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP)

SplitInfinity Becomes a Platinum Sponsor

Los Angeles, CA - (September 29, 2005) ? Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) is pleased to announce that SplitInfinity is supporting its mission as a Platinum Sponsor (the highest level of sponsorship) and by joining the ASACP Advisory Council.

SplitInfinity Network has been providing quality web hosting and dedicated servers in its datacenters since 1997. They are well established in the web hosting industry, and also provide a wide range of web programming solutions.

?The support of companies such as SplitInfinity has allowed ASACP to expand its efforts in the battle against child pornography. We?ve been able to add staff which in the end means that we can provide better services,? said Joan Irvine, Executive Director, ASACP.

ASACP transitioned from a grass-roots organization to a non-profit association in the last few years. This transition required that it continually implement new technology and deploy it in unique ways. ASACP needed to stay one step ahead of the criminals that use the internet to exploit children. It needed more help on this than it could financially afford. This is where non-profits benefit from having a strong Advisory Council. An association with a clear mission, goals and a good reputation can attract the industry leaders to contribute their expertise.

?In addition to being a Sponsor, I am honored to be on the ASACP Advisory Council. It feels good to denote my time and ideas to such a dedicated association. ASACP deals with some very tough issues and needs the input from a representative group of industry professionals. I was asked to join because ASACP is required to continually enhance their technology - I?m here to help them do this,? said Chris Jester, CEO SplitInfinity.

According to Irvine, ?Chris is active in his commitment to battle child pornography and other illegal activities on the internet. Chris has been involved in the identification and prosecution of hundreds of CP sites. He works with law enforcement to eliminate illegal activity on the internet. He is an advocate of responsible business practices and using technical tools to their fullest ? a perfect fit for ASACP.?

Jester believes in giving back to the community. For example, at the Free Speech Coalition?s Night of the Star in June, Split Infinity was awarded $10,000 by the FSC for his work in the fight against child pornography. Jester immediately gave this award to ASACP. It was a decision that he and his wife had decided was the best way to spend the money. ?In the end, when you win an award, it feels really good to then turn around and contribute it to a really worthy cause like ASACP and the great work they are doing,? Jester. ?It just feels like it can do even more good going forward this way.? (For more info, see http://www.asacp.org/press/pr071905.html).

ASACP is the organization that helps the adult site industry makes a difference in the battle against child pornography. In addition to its hotline, ASACP provides a self-regulatory vehicle for its members through a Code of Ethics that promotes the protection of children through responsible, professional business practices (http://www.asacp.org/bestpractices.html).

If you are one of the more than 5,700 sites that take a stand against child pornography by displaying the ASACP logo but are not a Sponsor or a recently signed-up Approved Member or Supporter, please take advantage of the new benefits. Visit the following page to join today - http://asacp.com/membership_form.html.

For further information, visit the ASACP site (www.asacp.org) or contact Joan Irvine, [email protected].

Okay, I don't understand. I join FSC and they use the money to give to individuals for their work fighting cp? I did not know that was why I joined.
