Haven't laughed that much in years.

I hope Mark Webber does all right. Australian driver debuting in Australia for an Australian team.

For the records, before the season really starts (I might want to bring this thread back to the top, when the season finishes):

This guy, Massa, is Brazilian, and is being compared to Ayrton Senna. He broke several records last year. He skipped many steps to get to F1. He is being paid to drive for Sauber (rookers usually have to pay to drive, either from their own pockets or from their sponsor's).

Barrichello, on the other hand, lost Brazilian respect a long ago.

kuwawawah 03-02-2002 12:22 PM

I like sato, British f3 champion and winner of macau GP. He is not just another corporate backed japanese driver, he actually knows how to drive and win. too bad the Jordan team looks good, but slow and unreliable.

DTK 03-02-2002 07:18 PM

OK! We're 30 minutes from the start. Who's you're pick to win today??

Klaus... 03-02-2002 07:38 PM

1. M. Schumi
2. Barrichello
3. R. Schumi

How that start was not red flagged, I will never know. I suspect Stoddart realized it was Minardi's best chance for points and gave Bernie his last million to NOT red flag it. :1orglaugh

DTK 03-02-2002 10:28 PM

Brazzz - I think you are correct about Massa. He is as fast as Heidfeld and he is only 20:eek2 :eek2

let's keep this threat going for the rest of the season...
this week it's the

BRAZILIAN GRAND PRIX

Friday practice has already surprised a few people with Toyota showing promise:
1 Coulthard McLaren
2 Montoya Williams
3 McNish Toyota
4 Schumacher R Williams
5 Schumacher M Ferrari
6 Raikkonen McLaren

jimmy3way 03-29-2002 09:50 PM

What the fuck is McNish doing up there? I respect the fuck out of the guy but I didn't think he'd really be a contender. I suspect they were doing low fuel runs and won't be much faster in qualifying when the big boys turn up the wick.

Speaking of wick, how fucking big is Montoya's to go wheel to wheel with Schumi and beat him...barely.

What the FUCK was up with that shit drive through penalty in Malaysia??? It was obvious as a motherfuck from the in-car that Schumi T-boned Montoya and MONTOYA gets the penalty?

I think the stewards should have been frisked for M. Schumi Fan Club ID cards.

Jer 03-30-2002 12:01 PM

Barrichello will win Brazilian GP (here in São Paulo), and Massa will be the 6th again :D

kuwawawah 03-30-2002 12:06 PM

too hard to predict now, just watched qualifing and so many fast cars just don't know who will last to the end.

Hooterdog 03-30-2002 12:40 PM

M. Schumacher splits the 2 Williams up front with a daring last minute run. Looks like they took off a huge amount of downforce to keep up with the BMW power. Schumi was barely hanging on. Don't think they can come to the race with that set-up . . . . .

I'm gonna go with the Williams/Michelin package:
1. Montoya
2. R. Schumacher
3. M. Schumacher

P.S. Look for a good finish from Renault!

Klaus... 03-30-2002 06:24 PM

OFFICIAL GRID
1. Montoya - Williams
2. Schumacher M - Ferrari
3. Schumacher R - Williams
4. Coulthard - McLaren
5. Raikkonen - McLaren
6. Trulli - Renault
7. Button - Renault
8. Barrichello - Ferrari
9. Heidfeld - Sauber
10. Salo - Toyota
11. de la Rosa - Jaguar
12. Massa - Sauber
13. Irvine - Jaguar
14. Fisichella - Jordan
15. Villeneuve - BAR
16. McNish - Toyota
17. Panis - BAR
18. Frentzen - Arrows
19. Sato - Jordan
20. Webber - Minardi
21. Bernoldi - Arrows
22. Yoong - Minardi

Montoya is good at Brazil.... it'll be tight into the first corner again.

Barrichello was the first, pretty fast, didn't win just because the fuckin' F2001 Ferrari broke.

jimmy3way 03-31-2002 12:14 PM

That race was a fucking parade...ah well. At least my man Montoya got a point or two, one win out of first means it's still game on.

Actually, he might have run out of fuel. They claim a massive hydrolics failure, but why was he throwing the car back and forth? Looked like he was trying to get the last bit of fuel out of the tank. Still, a bit of bad luck, he was running strong before his trouble. He should have a 2002 car at the next race.

I was dissapointed that Ralf did not try to pass his brother. 4/10's of a second, and he didn't even try. I wonder if Montoya would have gave it a shot. I think so.

Klaus... 03-31-2002 07:10 PM

Just watched the tape of the race... it was shown at 3am, bit too late or early.

How unlucky is Rubens? Every year the same walk to the pits .:(

Michael did well in getting the new Ferrari on the board, especially with the tires everyone said wouldn't last.

Ralf was too chicken to have a go (but still well done).

Montoya :thumbsup nice catch-up

Well done David. It's been a while.

Don't think he was ever able to get close enough because MS was running less downforce and thus could outrun RS on the long straight.

SO TRUE! but you are talking about two different worlds here!

Everyone may 'think' it's hella easy to drive a car w/about 700bhp around a 'mile' or 'two mile' track...but I'm SURE it's not!

The same can be said for 'rally racing'...It's not that easy to swing these 300bhp, 4WD cars around tracks where most of the track is just wide enough to allow two cars to pass...while going 50-75mph...cliff on the left...and rocks on the other...

DAMN...Now I've got the urge to go play "Rally Masters" and "EA's F12001!"... :)
