how do you calculate the value of your sites?

this topic has been visited a lot of times, so lets revisit it again.

i have 60+ sites running. combined they make "x" amount of money per month and i have "y" amount of overhead per month. the sites are 1 to 2 years old. most use basic TGP and trading scripts.

whats the best way to calculate the total worth of the network?

6-9 months revenue? more? less?

touch me...

I don't think there really is a formula.

It's worth what you're take for it and what someone else is willing to pay.

You also have to keep in mind how much work they require. I think a site that requires less work will be more expensive than a site that doesn't require as much work, assuming they net the same amount.

You also have to keep in mind personal value verses actual value. My network is worth much more to me than it would be to other people. There are a select group of individuals that would also value my network higher than most, but only because they know how to properly utilize the power.

how do you calculate the value of your sites?

the answer is simple: how much the "sucker" is willing to pay you.

to all the ppl that ever bought sites from me.. I am kidding!!

I would take net and times it by 9-12 months. But many factors come into play including where the traffic is coming from, how many months has the revenue stayed constant or increased, etc...

The basic accepted standard has always been 6 months profit.... but when dealing with websites and web-based networks of sites that formula is very flexible and subjective. There are a lot of things to be factored in.

I've heard of people selling for as much as 3 years of profit. Depends on how attractive your stuff is and how bad the buyer wants it.

Smitty and the other's are correct.

Some people will claim it's 3 months of revenue, other 6, some 9-12. All of it's subjective to so many factors, some of the biggest being how much they will pay, and what you are willing to let it go for.

There are a lot of factors at play, and unfortunately, you do not have a simple formula. Which is good and bad. But I tend to think it's in the seller's favor most of the time.

What you Think you can sell it for

And what the buyer thinks it's worth

The true value of your site. Is what is sells for.
